All Kinds of Love In This World...

"There are all kinds of love in this world but never the same love twice." ~ F Scott Fitzgerald

Good morning friends and hope you had a lovely bank holiday...

Thank you to all my new followers from yesterday's post and I just wanted to say welcome to my blog and hope you'll enjoy all my future posts as you join me on my journey...

Today, I wanted to share the first of two cards that I made for Making Cards Magazine. This set was featured in the September issue of the magazine and if you want to read all about how I created the cards, then you can get back issues of the magazine HERE.
I adore everything about Art Deco including the fashion and the architecture and I hope that I've captured the feel of that wonderful era with these cards that were inspired by The Great Gatsby. The stamp set that I used is the 1920's Ladies Plate from The Artistic Stamper and the stunning papers are from My Mind's Eye. I coloured the images with Distress Marker Pens.
The Art Deco emblem that I used at the top of the card, was hand drawn by moi and there were templates available in the magazine. To complete the card, I added some fluffy feathers which after hunting high and low, I found in John Lewis and some flowers from Prima Marketing!!

So, that's it from me for today and I'm going to be taking it a little easier over the next couple of days and rest a little, as I have a very important date on Thursday with a very special man!! *deep breath*...I'm going to the Tim Holtz workshop....*squeals*!!! It's going to be a huge day for me but I am looking forward to it so much and I promised myself since day one when I found out Tim and Mario were coming to the UK that I would get there even if it kills me...lol!!!

I'll be back tomorrow with my second card from this set but until then...bye for now and have a wonderful day!!

Springtime in Paris...

Hello friends and if you're here in the UK, hope you're enjoying the long weekend and having a very happy Bank Holiday Monday!!

Today, I wanted to share something that I was inspired to create after seeing a project by the very talented Tammy Tutterow, using the fabulous Sizzix Postage Stamp Frame die by Tim Holtz. I wanted to use the frame to create the little box and together with the photo below, that I took myself of cherry blossom that was bursting open in our garden, the image of April In Paris popped into my head (and yes, I know it's May but it was April when I had the idea ~ lol)...
...so, once that image was stored in my mind, away I went and this is what I made!! As always, I really hope you love what I've made...

For this shadow box, I used lots of wonderful Sizzix and Tim Holtz products but it all started with the Postage Stamp Frame die to create the outer layers of my box.
I used Tim's Papillon stamp set by Stampers Anonymous to stamp the background to my shadow box and added an Idea-ology Word Key hanging from a Ring Fastener.

The Eiffel Tower is from the Fleur de Lis and Eiffel Tower die and I used chipboard, covered in a metal sheet before embossing the Tower with Tim's Eiffel Tower and French Script set of Texture Fades. After adding alcohol inks and Distress Paint, I added the tower to the front of my box.
I used Distress Stains to colour my white paper flowers and added stamens to the centres of each, before attaching them to my box, together with some of Tim's Film Strip Ribbon.

I stamped the Paris postmark from the French Marketplace set of stamps and attached this with an Ideo-ology Gem Clip and as a finishing touch I added a glass vial, attached one of the Chit Chat stickers to the front and placed the last of my flowers into it.

So, that's it from me for today...hope wherever you are you can enjoy the sunshine and warm weather!!
I'll be back tomorrow with my Clarity samples that I made for the Create and Craft shows that were on over the weekend...but until then, thank you so much for stopping by and I can't wait to read all your comments!
See you soon and bye for now!

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing...

Hello everyone!!

It's already that time of day, when the light starts fading and I know that there's not much crafting left to be done and it's time to catch up on my emails and admin before I start making dinner! I can't believe how quickly these days are going and December really does seem to have flown by!! As for Christmas, this time next week it will all be over, the food that I've lovingly prepared will hopefully, all be eaten, the wrapping ripped off the presents and we'll all be thinking about New Year!!

Saying that, there is still so much to be done and tomorrow, I'm finishing the last of my crafting until next Thursday, when it will start all over again. If I didn't finish tomorrow, I think I'll be making cards whilst eating my Christmas dinner, so...I'm being strict and saying "enough is enough...Emma, step away from the heat gun" ~ lol!!

In the meantime, I promised you some of my very favourite Christmas cards that I've made this year and I'll be sharing these with you over the next four days...

...and here's the first! This is the first of two cards that were made for a Making Cards Magazine commission and were featured in the December issue, where the second of this set made the front cover. Of course, it features Tim Holtz stamps and as always, I hope you like it!

Okey dokey, time for me to drink my tea and catch up with a mountain of emails. Thank you for stopping by to take a look at today's post ~ I really appreciate you spending the time and coming to visit and leaving all your lovely comments, at this hectic point in the year!!

Bye for now and see you tomorrow with the second card in this set...

Special Delivery...

Hello everyone!!

Isn't it absolutely freezing out there??? I must admit the freezing fog that descended on us yesterday did make everything look so pretty and the sunset that we had here in London was amazing. It lasted for about 3 minutes and then it was gone but the colours in the sky were just spectacular!!

So, it's been another busy day here at Chez Williams'...a trip to the dentist this morning and a huge filling was the first thing to get over and at the moment, the injection is still here to stay!! I did try to have a cup of coffee earlier but that was a bad idea...the cream coloured carpet saw more of it than I drank!! lol!!

In the meantime, I thought in this run up to the big day, I would share all the Christmas cards that I have created over the last few months for Making Cards Magazine. All these cards have been featured in issues of the magazine, since October and if you would like to see how I've made any of these cards then back issues can be bought HERE!!
Some of you might remember seeing this card on the cover of the November issue and this is obviously a very special card that features a surprise in this pocket which I created using Authentique papers. I made the flower from the papers and added the "Noel" using the Sizzix/Tim Holtz Vintage Noel die to die cut chipboard which I then painted and enamelled with UTEE.

The folded carousel card.
The carousel card tied together and fully opened to show all the detail of the inside!

Close up of the flower
From above, looking down at the carousel.
As always, I can't wait to read all your comments and I hope you like my little creation as much as I loved making it!!

Okey dokey, I'm off to put my presents that I've wrapped and decorated, under the tree and try and tidy up the bombsite that is otherwise known as "my house"
See you all tomorrow with another share and I promise that I am going to be dropping by to say hello to everyone once I've completed all my work and replied to the emails sitting in my inbox!!

Bye for now, stay warm and take care!

Winter Wonder

Hi everyone ~ hope you all had a fabulous weekend!!

It's still chaos here at Chez Williams'...it's taking me some time to knock this flu and respiratory infection on it's head and I'm absolutely drained as soon as I do the slightest thing but...hey ho, there's is no rest for the wicked and I definitely have to just keep calm and carry on, at the moment!!

In the meantime, whilst I slowly try to get back into the swing of things and definitely try to step up a gear...here's the first of a two card project that was featured in last month's Making Cards Magazine. As always, I really hope you like it...
For this card, I used the Winter Frost collection and the frame is from the Distressables Pad from Craftwork Cards. I addded ribbons and embellishments from The Ribbon Reel and of course, none of my cards would be complete without a touch of Lord Tim Holtz and as you can all see on this one, I used the gorgeous Winter Wonder die from Sizzix to make my focal point, together with the Sizzix Holly Branch Alterations die.

Okey dokey, time for me to scour all the online craft stores to find some lovely new products to use on my next magazine commission. If you're like me, I always forget exactly where I saw things and then have to start all over again...lol!!
See you all tomorrow with the second card from this set...bye for now!

Fly Me To The Moon...

Happy Friday to everyone I know...I hope you're all looking forward to a fabulous weekend, whatever you have planned.

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all your lovely comments and kind words about this week's Clarity shares...I hope you've enjoyed them and that I haven't bored you too much!! lol.

Today, is the final card that I made and I think I saved the best until last....enjoy and I hope you like it!!

As you can see, Tim Holtz's Snowflake Rosette dies for Sizzix, did fall into my basket and so far, I have had more than my money's worth out of these...I think they will be on quite a few projects from now, until Christmas!!! I just LOVE them!!!
What you can't see from these photos is that I hand painted the image using Perfect Pearls and it gave it the most wonderful shimmer to the artwork.
So, thank you for your final visit of this week and I'll look forward to reading all your comments. Before I go, I just wanted to mention that if you are a Barbara Gray fan, you might be interested in the latest issue of Crafts Beautiful, which is out now!! Barbara asked two members of her DT to work alongside her for this project and I was one of those lucky people and here's a little sneaky peek of what I made ~ my card is the one on the left!!
Happy Weekend to you all!!
See you soon and bye for now!

Have A Beautiful Day...

Hi everyone!!

Well, I think you can safely say Autumn is here, and in some parts of the country...with a vengeance. If you are affected by the dreadful weather, at the moment ~ stay safe, warm and please take care. Here in London, it's cold and on Sunday, I actually had to turn the central heating on before I turned into an icicle. Usually, we try and hold out until October but for one day only, it just had to be done.

Thank you for all your lovely comments that you left on my last post. I know I keep saying it but I really do apologise for being such a bad blogging buddy just lately!! I'm hoping that I can see a chink of light at the end of the long tunnel that I'm in at the moment, but I don't want to tempt fate...so, shh, I don't want to jinx it!!! lol!

At the moment, everything I'm working on can't be shown yet but in true Blue Peter style...here's one I made earlier.
Some of you will probably remember this card from a set that I made for the magazine, way back in April for the June issue of Making Cards. I'll show you the other one I made to complete the set, in my next post but I thought you might like to see some of the detail up close and as always, I hope you like it...

Okey dokey, time for me clear up the bombsite that used to called a dining room, until I turned it into my "craft room"!!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and I really do love reading all your comments!!
See you soon and bye for now!
