Coming Up Daisies

Hi everyone!!

Hope you're all having a wonderful week, so far!

I'm still busy making lots of samples but today, and I hope no-one faints from shock...I actually gave myself a day off!!! Well, I say I had a day off...I did go shopping with my Mum, sat in a cafe people watching and enjoying a coffee, managed to nab myself a bargain coat from French Connection for £30.00, sweet talked the lovely gentleman in Superdrug to give me the following David Beckham poster that they were throwing away... *swoon* ~ lol
...but whilst doing all this, my mind was still buzzing with ideas for more projects, which I started as soon as I got home!! Oh well, you can take craft away from this girl but never take the girl away from craft!!

Which leads me nicely to today's share and another of my Making Cards Magazine projects...I hope you like it!
As soon as I saw these stamps, I just knew I wanted to use them, I adore the work of Mabel Lucie Attwell and I have to thank the lovely Jennie from The Artistic Stamper for making them into a rubber stamp range for all us crafters to work with and enjoy!
I wanted to make this set of cards, (I'll be sharing the other two in this set that I made with you over the next few days), have a shabby chic, vintage feel to them, almost as if they stepped out of the pages of one of her books. The papers were from My Mind's Eye and the die cut flowers were made using the Button Flower die from Marianne Design Creatables. As a finishing touch, I added some seam binding, decorative pins and button from The Ribbon Girl and last but never least, I thought the Tim Holtz ticket stamp, worked perfectly.

So, I hope you liked today's share and will come back to take a look at the others I made to complete the set.

Now, it's time for me to settle down for the night with a cup of coffee and catch up with the growing pile of magazines that keep coming through my door but never get read.

I'll be round to visit and comment on all your fab creations later!!
See you soon.

Further Adventures In Wonderland...

Hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend and had a wonderful time, even if the sun didn't shine.

Me? It's been a long weekend of crafting...I haven't stopped and still, I'm nowhere near finished. Where did all this work come from?? I've never seen so many boxes full of paper, adhesive and stamps...I haven't got time to breathe!! lol

So, because I'm so busy making lots of lovely things to show you all, asap...today, I'm showing you more of my magazine cards that have been featured over the last few months in Making Cards. And here are the next ones that complete the Alice In Wonderland set, using those fabulous Leanne Ellis stamps from Funky Kits. Hope you like them...
This card features the Mad Hatter and The Cheshire Cat and for this one, I chose to make and use a giant teapot as the backdrop to the whole design. The teapot is cut out from card and decorative paper, using the teapot template from Craftwork Cards.
The images are all coloured with Promarkers and I carried on the theme of handmade flowers, throughout all of the cards.

And the complete set in all their glory!!
Well, it's time for me to try and find some "me time" and collapse on the sofa, with Poirot or the inmates of Celebrity Big Brother. Who said I don't know how to live the high life on a bank holiday Monday!?! lol

Hope you all have a wonderful evening and I'll be round to comment on all your lovely creations, later tonight!

See you soon with some more cards from my "ones that I did earlier collection"!!!

More Adventures In Wonderland

Another day and more rain. But saying that it was always going to happen if I was going to the hairdressers and right on time, just as I was leaving with my lovely new haircut...the heavens opened and my hair ended up looking like a frizzball!! hehe...

So, it's time for another card and seeing as we visited Wonderland yesterday, I thought we might as well stay for a while and have some more adventures there and here is today's share. Some of you might recognise this card, as it was one of my Making Cards Magazine projects from a previous issue but I thought it would be nice to share it here on my blog, in detail...hope you like it!!
The stamps that I used are the Alice In Wonderland set from Funky Kits. There are six stamps in the set but these are definitely my favourite of the lot. I just love that image of the Queen of Hearts. I made the style of the card blank by using a Tim Holtz, On The Edge die and left the back section just slightly longer than the front...just to make something a little different to the normal square cards.
I coloured the images with Promarkers and highlighted them with Glossy Accents and used some gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye on the background. Of course, no card would be complete without some of my handmade flowers and instead of regular shaped leaves, I thought it would be nice to die cut some little hearts and use those as the leaves. To finish it off, I painted a chipboard crown with gold acrylic paint and then added a coat of Rock Candy Crackle Paint.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my little creation and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Let's keep our fingers crossed it doesn't rain and we get some sunshine!
See you soon with some more cards from this set!

Sarah Hurley Challenge 48 ~ Bling and Sparkle

Hi everyone!!!

Hey, did someone steal summer?? I'm sitting here with all the lights on and watching the rain as it pours down outside...hmm, I think this is what's known as the Great British summer!! lol

Anyway, I thought I'd drop by to let you know that today is the start of a new challenge over on Sarah Hurley's Challenge Blog and the title of this challenge ~ BLING AND SPARKLE. We'd love you to join us and you have two weeks to break out the glitter and gems and maybe be the lucky winner of a voucher to spend with our sponsors, My Mum's Craft Shop.

And here's my card for the challenge, using some more of those fab papers and designs from Sarah's Wonderland cd. I just love this cd and can't get enough and I combined these with some Spellbinders die cuts and a Tim Holtz flourish.

For my bling, I used some glitter paper to make the handmade roses and finished off the whole card, with a gold crown and black sparkly gem.

Right, it's time for me to head back to the craft room and start making some more cards. It's never ending..I'm a human card making machine!! lol

I'll be around to catch up with all your creations on your blogs, asap.
See you soon and enjoy the rest of your day!

"Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." — Marilyn Monroe

To do list: ✓✓✓
Still to do list: ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐ ☐
lol ~ Evening everyone and yup, the life of Emma is still a busy one and at the moment, I think I'm crafting for England and there's only two things in life that can help me through the workload...coffee and chocolate and in large amounts!! By the time I've finished, I think I'll resemble the size of a house.

But I've making lots of lovely things and working with lots of gorgeous goodies and I can't wait to show them all to you!

But here's one I made earlier and I hope you like it...
The stamp is from the Personal Impressions range of Travilla's fashion designs for Marilyn Monroe and I really wanted to try to capture the feel of the house of Travilla, using images from Tim Holtz's Haberdashery set, vintage ribbon, pins and the lovely papers from K & Company.
I stamped the Marilyn image in Stazon and watercoloured it with Kuretake's Art and Graphic Twin pens.
Well, it's time for me to go and collapse on the sofa and start chanting again...keep calm and carry on, keep calm and carry on...you won't believe how many times I say this to myself in a day!! :)
See you soon...

Waiting...

Another weekend has flown by and I don't know about you but even though it's been a lovely day, today...there's definitely a feel of Autumn in the air. Yesterday, as I was driving along, there were leaves being blown from the trees and a very watery sunshine...if I didn't know, I would think we were in mid-September rather than August.

Anyway, I'm not sure where August has actually gone and except for one post, I know I was M.I.A. last week but I promise, I have been making lots and lots of cards! The living room and dining room have now been taken over and resemble John Lewis' greetings card department!! I can't wait to show you what I've been up to but until I can, I'm having to sit on my little hands and tease you with the fact that...there's some lovely things coming this way soon!! So, watch this space... hehe!

But for now, here's a card I can show you and another one using those lovely Gorjuss stamps...I hope you like it!
The one thing I always tend to do with these images, is not make them cute and I love the fact that these stunning little girls can lend themselves to a bit of distressing and shabby chic!
Once again, I made one of my "famous trademark" HUGE flowers and used that stripey paper, which I think is fab!! I also added some rosettes, vintage ribbon and a Spellbinders die cut to complete the card.
The image was painted with Art and Graphic Twin pens from Kuretake.

I'll be around later to comment on all your lovely creations, after I've tidied up the crafty bombsite that used to be a family home! lol

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at what I made. See you soon and hope you all had a lovely weekend!!

"No Clouds In The Sky"

Hi everyone, remember me? Well, with all your encouragement and lovely comments on my last post, I can confirm that I'm still breathing but at the same time, chanting..."keep calm and carry on...keep calm and carry on..." lol

Well, I did say that I was going to be flat out over the last few days (and the next few days too), and I was absolutely right but I'm just coming up for air and thought I'd pop on to say hello and of course, show you a card. I hope you like it...
This card features one of the lovely Gorjuss Girl stamps that were recently released by Personal Impressions and some of you might remember from quite a while ago that I absolutely adore Suzanne Woolcott's illustrations and as soon as I saw this one, I just knew that I had to have it.
I wanted to keep the overall look of this card, monochromatic but then add just a pop of colour and I really loved the way it turned out. I stamped the image onto watercolour paper and then hand painted it, using Kuretake's Art and Graphic Twin Pens.
To complete the card, I added one of Tim's messages which I stamped onto a journalling ticket. I crafted a lovely big flower which I made from some of the stripey papers that I had left over from a previous Gorjuss kit and finally added some of those fabulous Floral Flourishes from Spellbinders.

Well, it's time for me to tidy up my workdesk and clear away all my finished projects, ready for another day and another set of new projects.
I'll be around later to comment on all your lovely creations and I'm sorry if I've missed any of them but I promise that I do read everything and always find all of your work inspiring!!
See you soon and I'm still chanting...keep calm and carry on...keep calm and carry on... lol

Prancer And His Sleigh...

So, did you guess which Clarity card I was saving until last? hehe...I hope it was worth the wait.

This was another of those cards that was so hard to let go of...when I started working on this little creation, it was one of those projects that everything just worked and, first time. Sometimes, I'll admit I have more than one attempt to get them to look the 110% perfect that I like but nope, not this one. The moon, the positioning, the Distress Ink background and the embossed stars all went to plan and even if I do say so myself ~ I loved it!!

I'm off to cook a Sunday roast now but I must admit...I'm absolutely shattered. I've spent all day writing my magazine instructions for all my projects that will be in Making Cards, started work on some gorgeous QVC products and the list of things to do is definitely not getting shorter. In fact...someone tell me to breathe because I'm definitely starting to panic!!! lol So much to do and only one pair of hands!!!

Hope you have a wonderful evening everyone and I'll see you sometime during the week to let you know if I'm still panicking!!!

See you soon and as always, thanks for stopping by to take a look at my little creations and for taking the time to comment. I appreciate them all...

Kind of Blue

Happy Saturday and just a quick post from me this evening, as I'm in the middle of cooking dinner and watching Harry Potter. Yup, I'm doing what women do best and multitasking!! lol

But I did promise yesterday that I'd drop by and share my penultimate cards that I made for last weeks Clarity Shows and here they are...hope you like them!!!

Tomorrow, I've my final share and I think I saved the best for last...I know it was my favourite and it had some fabulous close ups on TV last week!!

So, I'll see you tomorrow and I hope you all have a wonderful evening, whatever you're doing!!
Thank you for your continued love and support...you know I appreciate every single word!!

A Tree For All Seasons

Here we are again...Friday already!! Who keeps stealing my time?? After a break yesterday, I'm back with some more of the cards that I made for the Clarity shows, last weekend and I hope you like them...

These tree stamps were both designed to be Christmas trees but when I saw the silhouette version, there was only one thing that came to mind and that was Halloween. I just thought it worked perfectly in conjunction with some Spellbinders Bats and the background which I created using a Big & Juicy ink pad!

The second version of the tree, is all about Christmas and I purposely chose to make this one, quite modern and bright. I love the combination of these colours together and it makes a change from traditional Christmas colours. The image was coloured using Promarkers and highlighted with Kuretake's Wink of Stella pens. As a finishing touch I added Rock Candy Distress Stickles to give the effect of snow.

I've got three more cards left from my Clarity share and I think I'm probably going to save my favourite for last, so...I'll see you tomorrow with the penultimate share and then on Sunday with my final card.

I hope everyone has a very happy and safe weekend and hope you enjoy every minute!
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my cards.

See you later!
