A Tree For All Seasons

Here we are again...Friday already!! Who keeps stealing my time?? After a break yesterday, I'm back with some more of the cards that I made for the Clarity shows, last weekend and I hope you like them...

These tree stamps were both designed to be Christmas trees but when I saw the silhouette version, there was only one thing that came to mind and that was Halloween. I just thought it worked perfectly in conjunction with some Spellbinders Bats and the background which I created using a Big & Juicy ink pad!

The second version of the tree, is all about Christmas and I purposely chose to make this one, quite modern and bright. I love the combination of these colours together and it makes a change from traditional Christmas colours. The image was coloured using Promarkers and highlighted with Kuretake's Wink of Stella pens. As a finishing touch I added Rock Candy Distress Stickles to give the effect of snow.

I've got three more cards left from my Clarity share and I think I'm probably going to save my favourite for last, so...I'll see you tomorrow with the penultimate share and then on Sunday with my final card.

I hope everyone has a very happy and safe weekend and hope you enjoy every minute!
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my cards.

See you later!

The Only Girl In The Village...

Well, finally the weekend is upon us but that doesn't mean that there will be any rest for this crafter. I have a write up for the magazine to complete, a new box of stamps to start work on and my Mum's birthday to organise! *phew*... I'm exhausted just thinking about it... lol but I do have one consolation. My favourite band of all time, Duran Duran are on ITV tomorrow night and I cannot wait!! There will be a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and I will be in my element... :)

But before all that and as promised, here's the final share from my Clarity samples. I hope you've enjoyed these cards as much as I've enjoyed sharing them with you and hearing all your lovely comments. My friends and followers, really are the very best...I thank you all!
So, above is the stamp set and below, is what I made. Sorry for the dark photos...but there was absolutely no sunshine when I needed it!!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and for all those who are going to the GNPE...have fun and I'm very envious!
See you next week...

Live The Life You've Imagined

Happy Monday, everyone and I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

I also want to say a big hello to my new followers...it's always great to see new faces and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on my creations! Don't be shy..say hello, I can't wait to see your comments!!

And talking of my creations, here is today's share.
I don't think it could escape anyone's notice over the last couple of weeks, that the crafting guru and all round craft god, Tim Holtz was visiting the UK. And whilst, I didn't manage to attend any of his workshops *sigh* ...I was so inspired by his visit, that I thought it was time to break open my new set of stamps and see what I could come up with...I hope you like it!!
Now, anyone who visits this blog on a regular basis, will know how much I love to make paper flowers but over the weekend, I thought I'd try something a bit different, get out the Melt Pot and see what I could come up with...and I'm really quite chuffed with my first effort. Ta~dah...I present my enamelled tattered floral! lol
The background of the main stamped image is made using exactly the same technique, with the Big and Juicy inkpad, as I used on my last post but it shows how different it can look each time you do it. Even if you wanted to, you would never be able to achieve the same look twice! All the images are handstamped using various elements from all Tim's stamps and as a finishing touch I added the flourishes and die cut leaves!

I'd better be going, I'm currently working on the next batch of samples for the Clarity Shows on Create and Craft and if you get a chance to tune in, you must...there's some fabulous stamps available to buy!
Hope you all have a fab week and I'll be round to all your blogs to comment on your lovely cards, asap!
See you soon,

Butterfly Kisses

Well, it's been another eventful day in the life of Emma...oh the joys of living in London town, huh! Don't get me wrong I love this city and you probably would never be able to take this girl out of London! It's a stunningly, beautiful capital but the downside is crime and it is on the uprise... Fortunately, everything has worked out ok, the police have done their job and hopefully, that will be the end of it but it really does make you think twice about who is outside your front door!!

Anyway, back to the world of craft and yesterday, I spent the day in front of the TV with the wonderful Mr Holtz...he is such a genius and unfortunately, I will have to admit to the fact that my credit card did take a bashing! But hey...he's worth it!! lol Now, I can't wait for all those packages to arrive with my Tim Holtz goodies!

In the meantime, I did make this little creation and I hope you like it.
The stamps that I used on this card are from a set that I bought recently on QVC and are designed by the lovely Marion Emberson. I made the background to the image by using a Big & Juicy inkpad, "squidged" it onto a craft mat, spritzed it with water and then dragged the paper across to give this gorgeous watercolour effect. I then stamped the images onto the paper using an Archival Ink Pad. As finishing touches, I added some punched butterflies, die cut flourishes and a button, tied up with twine!

Right, there's work to be done and unless, the crafting fairies want to spread their glittery magic...there's only one person who can do it and that's me!!
See you soon and take care!

Magic Happens

Hi everyone!! Despite the gloomy day outside, I hope you're all having a wonderful Tuesday and a big hello to my 60th follower!! It's always lovely to see a new face on the blog.

So, today is the start of my week of shares of all the cards I made for the ClarityStamp show which was live on Create and Craft, last Sunday and phew, what a show!! Once again, Barbara's wonderful stamps flew out the door and unfortunately, not many of the DT members cards got shown...yes, it was THAT busy!! Anyway, for all my lovely followers you get to see them, right here and here's the first two...
I was really pleased with the way this card worked out and I loved the background colours that I managed to create, by "squidging" my Big & Juicy ink pad onto my craft mat, spritzing it with water, then just dragging my paper across the ink. What I love about this technique is that you will NEVER be able to achieve the same effect twice...the ink is in complete control and it's always a surprise to see what you might come up with when you turn your paper over.

This card was made using the "Wishing You Well" set of stamps and on this card, I built up the background to the image by blending Distress Inks to create this moonlit night scene. The wishing well is coloured using various shades of grey Promarkers.

I hope you like the first of my shares and I'll be back tomorrow with the next batch...
So, I'll see you all, then...bye for now!!

In The Pink...

New day and a new set of Clarity samples to share with you. Someone asked me which was my favourite and to be honest, it changes from day to day. I think every card you make always becomes your new favourite and the one you're most proud of but I must admit, I do like this feather card. It's quite simple but makes such an impact. I also love this blend of colours because for me, the hot pink with orange and black just works so well! All the stamps from the show can be purchased from Clarity Stamp, click here for more details.

Feathers & Sentiment
The background of this card was made up from using a Big and Juicy Ink Pad and just blending the colours together, then stamping over them in black Archival ink. Finished off with some Diamond Stickles glitter glue.

Wreath and Sentiment Stamps
The wreath was handstamped, embossed with gold embossing powder and then painted using Perfect Pearls to give this beautiful shimmer effect.

Shoe and Sentiments Stamps

Thank you all for taking the time to look at my cards and thank you, Katina for your last comment. You made my day!

I'm now going to celebrate some good news! My Dad had prostate cancer nearly five years ago and every nine months, he has to have tests to check that he's still all clear. Today, was that dreaded day but the news was good and now, I'm raising a glass to the best Dad in the world!!
See you tomorrow!!
