Blue Christmas Countdown ~ Day Four

Ooo, I'm getting excited now...Christmas is only days away and I love this time of year!! The bustling shops, the Christmas songs and all the wonderful smells of Christmas food being cooked and wafting through the house.

I'm still keeping to my promise of my Christmas countdown all this week, which was adventurous but hey ho, I never make life easy on myself!!! LOL.

So, time for day four and today's post...I hope you like it!

This card was just one of the many samples that I've made since I joined the team at QVC and was made using the Ranger Core'dinations Distress Pad. I added some more Tim Holtz products to complete the card and as the finishing touch, added a huge floral, die cut from music paper and some seam binding.

"He Knows If You've Been Good Or Bad"...

Hello!!

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend but hasn't it gone far too quickly? I've been working away all weekend and haven't had a minute to think but tonight, there's a roast in the oven, complete with all the trimmings and a glass of wine that is shouting "drink me"!! It's what a Sunday is all about....

But before I rush off to the kitchen to check on things, here is today's post and it's the final piece to my little trio of Tis The Season creations ~ the tag!! I hope you like it...

I thought it would be nice to show three different ideas using Kaisercraft's, Tis The Season collection and I love making these tags, at the moment. It's amazing how much you can cram onto one little tag...

Throughout all the pieces that I've made, I used Tim's Rosette die to make these little decorative stacks, finishing them all off with my bottle top embellishment. I think my favourite piece on this has to be the rub on of Father Christmas, it is just a gorgeous image and the quality of these rub on's are fabulous.

The tag was die cut with Tim's Alterations die and I added some little chipboard snowflakes that I painted with acrylic paint and covered in Rock Candy Distress Stickles. Other than that, everything else that you see on this piece is from Kaisercraft and can be bought from Merly Impressions.

Time for me to check on the roast!!

Birdsong

Hi everyone!!

I can't believe that it's been nearly a week since I last posted, if I didn't know better I think someone pressed the fast-forward button on my life and this is the first chance I've had to put the brakes on it!! lol... It's been a crazy week in the life of Emma, I've had huge connection problems with my ISP, a re-occurence of an old neck problem that since a bad fall in my teens, unfortunately comes back to plague me from time to time but in between it all...I've also been crafting away and can't wait to show you all the creations that I've been making!

I'm sure that all you avid Clarity fans, know that Barbara Gray has been on Create & Craft, this weekend and even though the DT was given a little break this month and didn't have to work on any new samples, we did find the time to make some for the "In The Classroom" shows and this is the first of mine ~ I hope you like it!

It features the gorgeous JOY stamp, together with the music score and the little bird! I purposely wanted to keep this card really simple in the style but still make a statement and showcase the beautiful stamps. Sometimes, I think if you throw too much at a card, it can all get lost when they're shown on TV and the viewer doesn't know where to look first.

The only embellishments that I added was a ribbon, a little Candi and some die cuts from Tim Holtz's Autumn Gatherings die, covered in Rock Candy Distress Stickles, for the icy feel of winter branches.

So, that's about it for this card and tomorrow, I'll be back to show you the other one!

Number 13 ~ lucky for some!!

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all doing ok and having a lovely week. Me? I had a great productive start to the week but now, everything has ground to a halt as I've succumbed to the flu and been feeling under the weather for the last couple of days!! So today, I've spent it sitting on the sofa, plying myself with soup and let me just say, this soup from New Covent Garden is delish...if you love pumpkin, then you will want to taste this. It's nearly as good as my Mum's homemade and perfect for Halloween.

Which leads my very nicely to my post for today ~ I hope you like it!!

Once again, all the gorgeous 13th Hour, Kaisercraft products and stamps, that I used on this card are available from Merly Impressions, I just added some Spellbinders and Tim Holtz die cuts, (it wouldn't be a card without a die cut or two from me...hehe), some vintage ribbon and last but not least, another handmade flower, die cut using a PaperArtsy Grunge Flower die and dipped into UTEE, to give that enameled look.

I also thought that Tim's "31" Alteration die was perfect for this paper collection, I just used it as "13" instead!!!

I stamped all the images onto the card, before running it through a die cutting machine using, yes ~ that man again, one of Tim's Texture Fades, embossing folders to give the raised spiders web in the corner.

Quite a lot of distressing is all that was needed to complete it and a generous smothering of Rock Candy Distress Stickles to give a shimmer to the rose.

Time for me to head back to the land of Channel 4, afternoon TV and I'll try to get around to visiting all your blogs, to see your lovely creations!!

Frosty's Little Friend...

Hi everyone!! Hope you've all had a fabulous start to your week. So far, mine has been another busy one but I'm working on lots of exciting new cards and projects and as always, I can't wait to share them with you all!!

But for today, here's a couple of cards that I made earlier in the month and they feature, Frosty, and of course his friends from Craftwork Cards....this is an absolutely adorable collection of papers, flowers, Candi, messages and Frosty and Friends die cuts that you can colour yourself with whatever pens and in whatever colours you choose.

I hope you like what I made...

On these cards, I used Promarker pens and added Spellbinders die cuts and punched holly leaves to accentuate the images. If you look very closely at this little penguins goggles...you can see that I used Glossy Accents on them, to make them more realistic.

The bauble is made from the Spellbinder Heirloom Ornament die and I did a bit of paper folding to create the 3D effect. Once again, I added some die cuts and coloured the image with Promarkers.

As finishing touches, I added some seam binding from The Ribbon Girl, to the bauble, some Rock Candy Distress Stickles and some Ranger Liquid Pearls for the snow effect.

A Tree For All Seasons

Here we are again...Friday already!! Who keeps stealing my time?? After a break yesterday, I'm back with some more of the cards that I made for the Clarity shows, last weekend and I hope you like them...

These tree stamps were both designed to be Christmas trees but when I saw the silhouette version, there was only one thing that came to mind and that was Halloween. I just thought it worked perfectly in conjunction with some Spellbinders Bats and the background which I created using a Big & Juicy ink pad!

The second version of the tree, is all about Christmas and I purposely chose to make this one, quite modern and bright. I love the combination of these colours together and it makes a change from traditional Christmas colours. The image was coloured using Promarkers and highlighted with Kuretake's Wink of Stella pens. As a finishing touch I added Rock Candy Distress Stickles to give the effect of snow.

I've got three more cards left from my Clarity share and I think I'm probably going to save my favourite for last, so...I'll see you tomorrow with the penultimate share and then on Sunday with my final card.

Limited Edition

Well, what can I say about yesterday...except it was quite magical. And Kate's dress was stunning, elegant, chic and classic...everything I hoped for in a Sarah Burton design. The whole day was a wonderful occasion and London has never looked so beautiful. I was proud to be British...

But as always these events are over way too quickly and we all have to return to normal...a bit like Cinderella when the clock strikes midnight! lol And when that clock does strike midnight it means one thing and one thing only...time to get crafty!!!

And here's my share for today...hope you like it!

As you all know, I do have a little bit of a soft spot for all things Tim Holtz and I thought it would be nice to do a Timmy style tag, just for a change!!

The colours are all blended onto a Manila Cardstock tag using Distress Inks, which I had first adhered a torn page from a book to one of the corners. Then it was just a matter of building up my stamps and playing with some die cuts, to achieve the result that I wanted.

So, before I go...I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who left a comment on the last post!! I was overwhelmed by the reaction to my card and I really can't thank you enough!!

So, it's goodbye from me until Monday, when I shall return with the first of my Clarity samples from the infamous shows on Create and Craft!! Can't wait to show everyone what I made but before then, please keep your fingers crossed that no presenters decide to lean on them or just get so excited, that they forget to show the samples!!! Katina, you have my permission to email the studio if they do!! lol ;)

In The Deep Midwinter...

Today, I've been told is officially the first day of Autumn but just when I thought it was safe to pull on my boots and put away the Birkenstocks, the sun has made a return and here in London, it's been so hot, that it's actually hard to believe that it is Autumn and that, Halloween and Guy Fawkes night is just around the corner.

So far, it's definitely been one of those weeks for me...I literally haven't stopped and tomorrow is going to be another busy day. In the meantime, I literally have 10 cards and lots of Halloween projects all ready and lined up on the table...just needing an afternoon where I can shut myself away and craft!!

But in between the chaos, I did manage to make this card that I'm sharing today and it's another of those, where I just couldn't resist buying these stamps. They come from Clarity Stamps and if you ever have the chance to catch the wonderful Barbara Gray at work, you must. She is amazing and creates some of the most stunning cards. I just hope that I've managed to do her stamps justice.

So, inspired by Barbara and with these fabulous stamps, I decided to make a Christmas card, that wasn't obviously traditional but still had a gorgeous Christmas feel to it and except for the backing papers and ribbon, everything that you see on this card, is handmade...from using the stamps and building up colour onto the card with distress inks to die cutting the snowflakes.

So, I hear you ask...how did I make it? Firstly, I used Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, and gradually built up the colour to give a soft diffused look to the card and if you look hard enough, you might be able to see a little moon peeking out of the main image. I created this by punching a circle from a Post-It note, adhering it to the card and then when you have inked the paper, remove the punched circle and you're left with the image of the moon. I then stamped the tree and bird images, in black Archival Ink, before using Distress Stickles to give a glistening effect of snow. The snowflakes are die cut using a Spellbinders Shapeablities Die.
