The Masked Ball

As many of you already know, Barbara was back on our screens yesterday with the most stunning range of stamps and some of you have already seen my samples and left me some lovely comments...which made my day but as always, after the shows, I'm going to post all the cards I made and show you lots of close up photos, so you can see all the detail!!

So, here's the first of those posts and I have to admit, I just LOVE this stamp...it's just SO me!!! I adore the whole theme of masquerade balls, mardi gras and carnival, so I had a lot of fun bringing these stamps to life and I hope you like what I've made!!

The stamp was coloured with a combination of alcohol pens, metallic markers and Kuretake's gorgeous Wink of Stella pens. I added small adhesive pearls onto the image and then, everything else that I used on this card, is available from Clarity Stamp.

Right, time for me to fly, as it's going to be a busy week for me and I've got lots and LOTS of things to do!!!

Fairyland

Hi everyone!! ...And hello to all my new followers *waves*...looking forward to getting to know you and seeing all your lovely creations when I visit your blogs!

Hope you've all been enjoying the Clarity shows that have been on Create and Craft since Friday, it's definitely been an exciting weekend in the life of a Clarity Design Team member and after all the hard work over the last few months of getting all the samples ready for the Pick of the Week, I can now finally share them with you all....yay!! I've loved reading all your comments that you've been leaving me about my cards and you always make me smile with your lovely words ~ thank you everyone, for taking the time to leave them, it really does mean the world!!!

Over the next days, I'm going to slowly start working through all the samples and believe me, there's a lot so, tell me if you start to get bored but here we go....the first of those samples and features little Puck and the gorgeous toadstools...I hope you like them.

The first card is all about fantasy and shows how you can cut out elements from the design and decoupage them to give a different overall look to the card.

And the second card is all about being influenced by one of the greatest ceramic designers of the 1930's ~ Clarice Cliff. As soon as I opened the box and saw these stamps, I just knew that this one had to be done in her style and was crying out for that huge sunray to be sitting behind the main image.

Well, it's time for me to go as I can hear the oven telling me dinner is going to be served any time now! I've got it done early for once because I'm so excited at the return of Downton Abbey ~ *excited handclaps*. So, I guess you'll all know what I'm going to be doing at 9:00 tonight...putting the "Do Not Disturb" sign up on the door!! hehe...

Dreamer

Well, it's Friday night and I'm watching Coronation Street as I write this post...don't ever let it be said that I don't know how to start my weekend in style!! hehe...

For the last three days, I've done so much die cutting that I think my Cuttlebug is on fire and my right arm is definitely getting the workout of the century...at this rate, I'll end up resembling Rocky's next opponent!!

Anyway, I must admit I'm absolutely shattered but before I retire for the evening...I wanted to share today's card and the final card that I made for the Kuretake shows on Create and Craft.

This card features a stamp from Funky Kits by the wonderful Leanne Ellis. I just adore Leanne's style of artwork and this is just such a fabulous image which I handpainted using the Zig Art and Graphic Twin Pens. I then highlighted some of the areas, using Wink of Stella for a shimmery effect to the wings and clouds.

Some Like It Hot

Happy Monday, everyone!!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and I hope all those wonderful Dads out there got spoilt rotten on their special day! I think I've mentioned before that my Dad reads my blog and is definitely the proud father, so after seeing all my creations day in, day out there was no way that I couldn't make him a card for Father's Day, no matter how busy I was and this is the card I made...and he LOVED it!

It might not be a typical man's card but my Dad doesn't like golf, football, gardening, fishing but he does like movies and he does like Marilyn Monroe and that, is why I made this card. I don't know how many times we've laughed and smiled as we've watched one of his favourite films, Some Like It Hot. I think we both know the script off by heart and it doesn't stop there...The Seven Year Itch, Niagara, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes...you name it, we've watched them together. As long as I can remember, Saturday afternoon was always BBC2 and an afternoon film. And this is why this card was perfect for him...hope you like it too!

The papers are from my K & Company paper stack and the Marilyn stamps are from Personal Impressions and are showing the original costume designs by Travilla. I coloured the images in with Promarkers and some shimmery highlights to her dress, using Kuretake's, Wink Of Stella pens. I added some rosettes which I die cut with a Tim Holtz Alterations die and some more of those gorgeous pins from The Ribbon Girl. The final touch was one of Tim's Adage tickets and voila....

Anyway, it going to be another very busy week for me and I know when I last blogged I think I was in the middle of a mini breakdown with an AWOL mojo...lol but today is a new day and a new week. My Clarity DT work is done and now, I can start work on my next big project and I'm so excited!!! It was announced last week over on Craftwork Cards' Blog that they have have been invited to join Spellbinders in their Cross Promotional Partnership and together with my fellow DT members we are the lucky ladies who are going to have get creative and make some fabulous projects to show off what you can do with Spellbinders. Craftwork Cards products and last but not least...CANDI and I can't wait for my box of goodies to arrive!

And last but definitely not least, have you seen the latest Project of the Month, Sweet Meadow from Craftwork Cards!!!

WOW!! If you haven't bought it yet, then why not? hehe... It is absolutely stunning and I must admit, there were a lot of oohs and aahs as I opened my pack of goodies!! It's gorgeous and you will all fall in love with it, the minute you see it!!

Well, I'd better go and get my morning coffee and await the arrival of the postman and when you hear the squeals from the London area...that will be me opening my box!!

Beauty Queen

Hi everyone!!

I know, I know, lol...humble apologies because I promised this post yesterday but due to an eye infection, an horrendously busy schedule, my Mum not being very well and last but not least, an old neck injury raising it's ugly head~do you think I can be forgiven? Plus, on top of all this, I think my mojo has gone missing. I've looked for it everywhere and after sitting at my desk all day yesterday, trying to do some DT work...at six o'clock last night, I still hadn't come up with a thing!! Sometimes, these mojo's can be such pests and why do they always go missing at the most inconvenient of times? Grrrr

Anyway, enough about me and the fact that I sound like a walking medical encyclopaedia...hehe

Here's the card that I wanted to share with you all, yesterday...hope you like it?

This was another of the cards that I made for the Kuretake shows, last week and features, this beautiful stamp from Clarity. Every bit of this image is handpainted using a combination of Wink of Stella and Art and Graphic Twin pens.

The flourishes are die cut using my new Spellbinders flourishes die...I have a sneaky suspicion that you'll be seeing a lot of these on cards over the coming month...I love them!! And of course, it wouldn't be one of my cards without the finishing touch of some handmade paper roses.

Hello, lovely friends...hope you've all had a wonderful start to your week. I know I promised to share this post today and would've liked it to appear this morning but I'm really not sure who stole my Tuesday ~ it just disappeared. One minute, it was morning...the next, it was time to start dinner and in between time ~ it was crafting and chocolate all the way!!

So this is the card that should have been here earlier but better late than never and I hope you like it...

This was another of the cards that I made for the Kuretake shows on Create & Craft and when I started to think about these cards, I really wanted to choose stamps that would showcase the pens perfectly and give a wonderful platform for the rich pigment of colour that Kuretake's products deliver. And for this particular little creation, I chose to use Sheena Douglas' Paint Fusion stamps and I was so pleased with the result. And that butterfly is one of THE most gorgeous stamps I have ~ it is stunning!!

To complete the card, the quote is from Tim Holtz and stamped onto a scalloped nestie and the scalloped card blank and Candi is from Craftwork Cards.

If you look closely on some of these photos, you can see the beautiful shimmer from the Wink of Stella pens. These pens are fabulous when you want just that hint of glitter and 'not full on' glitter!

Warren

Good morning, everyone!! It's a new day and another beautiful sunny one and as promised, I want to introduce you to this adorable little rabbit called Warren!

Warren is the latest collection from the fabulous Craftwork Cards and I was lucky enough to receive the Project of the Month on Saturday and I couldn't resist playing and playing and playing... Yes, I did warn you...Warren is addictive ~ he is THAT cute!!

The POTM is packed with enough goodies to make at least 25 cards and includes a pack of 12 die cut images of Warren, for you to colour in, a wonderful collection of Cottontail papers, the brand new "On The Edge" cardstock blanks, which are lovely and much, much more! And here's the first of my shares...

The Warren Colour-Me images are perfect to use with Promarkers and I also used Kuretake's "Wink of Stella" pens to add some glittery highlights. I used papers from the collection and a Tim Holtz die to make the rosette and added a message, to complete the card.

Well, I've got a lot to do...so, after one more cup of strong coffee...I think maybe I should start! A woman's work is never done, huh? lol

Love Bomb

Happy Monday and Happy Valentine's Day, to everyone who is celebrating this day to tell that special someone...you love them.

And here, is the Valentine's card that I've made...

On Saturday afternoon, I sat down with my Kuretake pens and thought I'd have a play and inspired by Damien Hirst's Valium ~ this is the card I created. The "Love Bomb" explosion is created completely freehand by using a combination of those Kuretake pens, which included the Zig Art and Graphic Pens, Wink of Stella and Zig Writer and basically just created an explosion of dots and little hearts. I hand stamped the "Because Your Special" message in black and added my handmade pink blossom, which I made using K&Co papers. Finally, I added my Tim Holtz stamped message and a few adhesive gems and here it is...my "handmade" Valentine's card. I hope you like it...

Well, I'd better get out of my pj's and head to Tesco's, as the cupboards are bare and need to be filled but before I go, I just wanted to say "hello" to my new followers and look forward to seeing all your lovely comments on my lil creations!!

La Isla Bonita

Well, today hasn't been the most productive of days...it started well but then the plumber arrived to fix the tap...and from that point on, I haven't known whether to laugh or cry!! It could've been such a simple job but as always, you're completely reliant on the workman and it's turned out to be a nightmare!! Oh well, tomorrow's another day and until then, I shall try to keep smiling!!

In the meantime, the good news is, I've managed to find my mojo that just lately, seems to be escaping me on a regular basis and I did make this card to share with you all...

On this card, I used a combination of Kuretake colouring mediums, including the Zig Art and Graphic Twin pens, their wonderful new Wink of Stella range, which if you look closely at some of these photos, you can just see the beautiful shimmer that they give and were the perfect pen for all the detail on the dress and fan. And last but not least, I've also been trying out their Kurecolor pens. If you love your alcohol pens, Copics or Promarkers and you haven't tried this range from Kuretake...then it is a must because these pens are fabulous and they are already becoming my new favourite crafting item and shh, might even replace my beloved Promarkers!! The main reason that I love them so much is because together with a broad tip on the one end, you also have a very fine tip which is brilliant for detail work!

The stamp is from Kanban and as soon as I saw it, it reminded me Madonna, in her La Isla Bonita video. Oh, how I've always wanted to wear a dress like that!! All the papers that I've used to make the roses and also on the background, are from Craftwork Cards and as a finishing touch I added ribbon and some die cut flourishes.
