The Impossible Is Often The Untried...

I'm sure most of you all tuned into the Craftwork Cards launch shows over on Create and Craft on Wednesday and I just wanted to say a big congratulations to the wonderful and super talented Julie Hickey, who did an amazing job, as always demonstrating all the gorgeous new products that they had on the show. I can't wait to get my hands on some of the kits, I already have a million and one ideas buzzing around in my head...it's definitely going to be busy here at Chez Williams'...

...but before all those new ideas and trying to make space in the craft room for the new goodies, here's something I made earlier and I really hope you like it!!

This little box canvas is covered in Distress Paints before I piled on all the elements. I added Tim Holtz Tissue Tape around the edges of the canvas and used Sizzix/Tim Holtz die cuts, one of my favourite Tim Holtz quotes which I stamped on a mini canvas that I made myself, lots of Idea-ology, some Junkyard Findings from Finnabair and finally, some Petaloo flowers, which I covered with more Distress Paints.

For the little feet, I attached some bottle tops and applied Treasure Gold to highlight the raised areas of GrungePaste which I applied through a stencil.

What's New Pussycat?

Hello friends...

Hope you've all had a fabulous start to your week. Here in London, the sun is still shining, it's still hot and very humid and even though we had quite a downpour yesterday, it was so shortlived it didn't do a thing to cool anything down!! Put that together with the fact that at the moment, I'm being terrorised in the living room by the biggest moth I've ever seen in my life, had to deal with a small army of ants in the kitchen and don't even mention the spiders!!! Eek...don't you just love the British summers...lol!!!

It's been a busy couple of weeks here at Chez Williams' and today, is the first day that I feel I'm actually coming up for air, before getting back on the rollercoaster tomorrow and starting all over again but today, I thought I'd share a card that I made last month for a Clarity Stamp show. I don't actually think that at the end of the day, this stamp kit was included in the show, which was a shame but at least I get to show it here and as always, I hope you like it!!

I was sooooo pleased with this card and the way it turned out!! I couldn't have been happier...I just wish I could've kept it!! The wall for the little pussy cat to sit on is created using a Wendy Vecchi stencil and PaperArtsy Grungepaste, before I then painted it with Tim Holtz Distress Paints. Don't ask which colours, it was all trial and error until I got it looking right but doesn't it look fantastic!?!

The background is created using Distress Inks and the cat is stamped and then decoupaged to give the appearance of it sitting on the wall.

As a finishing touch, I created a starry night sky!!

I must apologise for my lack of visits to your blogs over the last few months ~ as some of you know, at the beginning of the year I had pleurisy and I also managed to crack a rib from the continual coughing due to the chest infection. To cut a very long story short, along the road to my recovery I have suffered a few complications which I now hope are going to be sorted out with a new GP but this has taken up a lot of my time and energy and that's why I unfortunately haven't managed to visit you all as much as I would like too!! I do follow all your work through social networking sites, etc and have seen all your fantastic creations but I really do hope you all understand why I don't visit you atm, but I can't thank you enough for all your support over the last few months!! Here's to feeling 100% soon and hopefully, fingers crossed, getting my life back on track!!

Live In The Moment....

Good morning everyone!

I hope you've all had a wonderful start to the week and thank you so much for all your comments and visits to my blog, last week...you really are the best followers ever!!

Today, I'm sharing something that I actually made for my Dad for Father's Day. Unfortunately, it wasn't finished in time, due to other commitments and life getting in the way, lol but it was so nice to be able to sit down for one day and actually make something for me, not for a DT or a commission...just for me (and Dad, lol)...in fact, it was heaven!!

So, without further ado...ta~dah, here it is and I really hope you like it!!!

The base of this is an MDF plaque which I covered in Gesso, then added some Grunge Paste from PaperArtsy through a stencil!! Once it was all dry, I then got messy and applied Distress Paints over the surface, blending the colours together.

As you can see, I added lots of Tim Holtz bits and pieces...but the main focal point is the Tim Holtz Pocket Watch Alterations die from Sizzix. I wanted some dimension to the piece and to make it look realistic, so after lots of die cutting and some Distress Paint...this is what I created!

I added Tissue Wrap to line the watch, some die cut Gadget Gears, again using the Tim Holtz die but this time, die cutting metal and covering the gears in alcohol ink and then, placed them onto the background of my piece and also, in the centre of the watch.

A few rub-ons, lots of Idea-Ology, some bits and pieces of metal from my stash and a few coils of wire later and voilà...I finished the piece!!

So, I really hope you like this piece and of course, as always with me, there's lots of pics to show you all the detail!!

I can't wait to read all your comments and thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at what I've created. Okey dokey...time for me to get crafty and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Chez Williams' today...yes, I have DT projects and they are CHRISTMAS!! Eeeeek....
