What A Girl Wants...

I can honestly say, that I really do love what I do!! There are some days, when everything comes together nicely and today, was one of them. After having a little bit of a creative block yesterday, which I think all us crafters have at one point or another...Tuesday, all fell into place! I've had a very busy but extremely inspirational day....

So, what did I make? Well...here it is, using another of those gorgeous and extremely "quirky" rubber stamp image from Kraftin Kimmie, which can be found at Dies To Die For.
The papers and buttons are from My Mind's Eye, together with some Bazzill cardstock. I thought they worked so well with the image, which I coloured in using Promarkers. I'm so addicted to Promarker Pens, the more you use them, the more you want...and then, you finally end up needing all the colours but don't you find that about quality crafting items. Promarkers, Spellbinders and Martha Stewart punches...how does any crafter live without them? Especially the Monarch Butterfly punch, which can be seen here and which I received for my birthday!

As final touches, I added DCWV flowers and a greetings plaque from Craftwork Cards, which was originally white but by dragging a Versa Chalk ink pad across and then buffing away any residue ink, I changed the colour to this beautiful soft, china blue greeting.

When In Doubt Dance!

Today's spotlight is on those fabulous Kraftin Kimmie stamps that I bought last month, from Dies To Die For and features, Monique.
I combined quite a few products to make this card...Promarkers, Martha Stewart punches, Petaloo flowers in different textures and finishes, ribbon, adhesive gemstones and Spellbinders dies...

I also used backing papers and cardstock, that I printed from the Polkadoodles, Paper Boutique~CD Rom. The main base card itself, is made from Centura Pearl Snow White Card, which you can buy from Crafters Companion. The one thing that I absolutely insist on in my crafting is quality products...there's nothing worse that seeing a card that starts to bend as it sits on the mantlepiece and I was really impressed with the Centura Pearl cardstock. I urge anyone who uses CD Roms to invest in this, as it's a good, heavyweight card and gives the most luxurious pearlised finish to your print out and my other little secret for quality printing paper is, Tesco. Their "Finest" range of printer paper is fabulous...give it a go!

Faraway Thoughts

It's the start of a brand new crafting week and as always, a week in the life of a crafter is a busy one. So many new products that are always tempting and I just wish I could have them all but unfortunately, the bank manager wouldn't be too pleased with me if I did. But I have got some new Tim Holtz dies that I will be playing with and I've also got some new Kraftin Kimmie stamps, that arrived Saturday from the wonderful Dies To Die For.

As for today's card...well, I think it's one of my favourite cards that I've made for a while. It features one of the newly released rubber stamp designs from Leanne Ellis, which are available from Funky Kits and they are FABULOUS!!!
You might also have noticed the paper flower and leaves, in the corner of the card. I made these, by hand, using Spellbinders Shapeabilites Flower Creations 3 and Assorted Leaves dies. At first, I hesitated as to whether I should invest in these Die Cuts. Yes, they are quite expensive and every penny counts but I am so glad that I did. There is just so much I'll be able to do with them and using them in conjunction with Distress Inks and patterned paper, they just make an absolutely stunning addition to any card!
The backing papers I used are from K & Company and I coloured the image in using Promarker Pens. Together with some finishing touches of glitter, ribbon and adhesive stones, I am just so pleased with how this card turned out...I LOVE it!!!

Best Mates

Just a quick post from me today....

The sun is shining here in London, the music is playing and it's going to be a flip flops and windows wide open, day for me. I'm going to look forward to a busy weekend but just wanted to share another card featuring the wonderful Craftwork Cards and their quality products...

This card was made by using, two of the black Elegant Rectangles, adhered together to make a landscape card blank. Once that is done, it's just a matter of the decoration. I used Promarker pens to colour in these two adorable little owls and then used some glossy accents on their big googly eyes. Once that was dry, I matted and layered them onto scalloped die cut ovals and adhered these to the card blank. Final touches of some flowers complete with the card candy centres and a greetings plaque, finish the whole card off.

So, there it is...a simple elegant card for the weekend...

Finally, I just wanted to let you all know about a website that I've found. It's called Dies To Die For and yesterday, I placed my first order with them and look what came in the post this morning. Thanks Tracy...I can't recommend you highly enough....

Happy weekend to you all ~ hope you have a good one!
