Craftwork Cards Sketch Challenge 8

Just to let you all know that Sketch Challenge 8 is now up and running on the Craftwork Cards blog. So, why not go and take a look at what the Design Team have come up with and have a go at the challenge yourself. All you have to do is make a card using any of the Craftwork Cards products, follow the sketch design below and then send your the photo of your card to info@craftworkcards.com. It's as easy as that and the lucky winner, who wins some crafting goodies will be announced on Monday, 20th September.

And this is the card I made for the challenge, using papers from the Sugar and Spice collection. The flowers were die cut from matching papers and I used my beloved Tim Holtz ~ Tattered Florals die from Sizzix to make them. To give definition to the layering of papers, I distressed the edges using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.
And last but not least, I thought I'd give you all a sneaky peek of something yet to come... As many of you know, I love to make handmade flowers and these stunners are for a project that I will be showing you all very soon. As for a clue to the project...it's all about the stripes!!!
Have a lovely Tuesday

Vintage Rose

Good morning to all my lovely friends and followers...hope you all had a fabulous weekend and looking forward to a new week ~ full of inspiration. As for me? I had a lovely, relaxing weekend but I did manage to make this card for the new Sketch Challenge, which is now taking place over on the Craftwork Cards blog. The Design Team have been busy giving you lots of inspiration...so, why don't you come and join in and see if you can win yourself some Craftwork Cards goodies.

The sketch is as follows and the closing date is Friday, 3rd September...with the winner being announced on Monday, 6th September.
And this is the card that I made. The papers all come from the Vintage Rose collection and I think they are beautiful. In their style, they remind me of Cath Kidston...who I'm a huge admirer of and they are really lovely to work with.
Well, I've got a busy day ahead of me but before I do anything....I think I owe myself one more hot cup of mocha and then I'd better get the show on the road!!
I hope you all have a wonderful week!!

Building Blocks

Hi everyone...can you believe it's the middle of the week already? The way time's flying, it will be Christmas before we know it.  But it's not here yet and as always, even though we have to start thinking about Christmas early in the crafting world, there's plenty to do before it arrives!!

And one thing that you could do is come and join in with the final Sketch Challenge over on the Craftwork Cards blog. It's your chance to win some fabulous goodies. This weeks sketch is as follows...

And here's my card for the challenge...

As soon, as I saw the sketch...I thought it would be a fabulous idea for making a baby's card and using those little squares as building blocks. I used chipboard letters from We Are Memory Keepers, for the ABC which I painted with Eco Green acrylic paint, before applying Glossy Accents over the top to make them shiny. The papers and die cuts are part of the Little Boy Blue collection at Craftwork Cards and are matted and layered onto Bazzill cardstock. I finally added a couple of buttons and some ribbon.

Footballer's Wives!

Later today, England's football team takes to the pitch in South Africa for their second match in the World Cup. But if football isn't your thing then why not join in with the second sketch challenge from Craftwork Cards. The sketch to follow, is below and you can see some of the Design Team's cards for inspiration over on the Craftwork Cards blog...
And here's my card for the challenge....
I used the beautiful Blossom collection of papers which are absolutely stunning and as usual the quality is superb. The various products come in a variety of seasonal colours, including pinks, blues, greens and yellows and there is something for all your crafting needs!

I chose to go for a summery feel to my card and was inspired by the colours of Neopolitan ice cream...strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. I combined Spellbinders dies and Martha Stewart punches to make my flowers and butterfly and added these to matts and layers of the Blossom collection papers. I added a greetings plaque, again from the collection and some beautiful organza ribbon.

And there it is...a card which every single time I look at it...makes me crave for that Neopolitan ice cream...

Good luck to our boys in South Africa and hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a fabulous weekend!!

It's Kick Off!!

Too much football and not enough craft??

Well, to all those footballer wives out there, if you love making cards and are going to be at a loose end whilst the World Cup is on... Craftwork Cards would love you to have some fun and come and join in with the weekly sketch challenges that are taking place every Friday for the next four weeks.

It all kicks off today with the fabulous Anglomania collection and you can find all the details of the challenge over on their blog.
And here's my design for the challenge. Everything I've used to make this card is from Craftwork Cards, with the added addition of some Bazzill cardstock and ribbon. I matted and layered the backing papers together with the Bazzill card and some pearlescent cardstock from Craftwork Cards. I die cut the wings using Tim Holtz's wonderful new Sizzix dies and together with the wonderful England embellishments, added them to the tag shape which I made using the same card and papers. I finally tied some ribbon through the hole in the tag and added some card candy as the final touch!!
Also, because I loved working with these papers so much and I couldn't resist featuring that adorable little dog. This is a little extra bonus card that I made. Once again it features the Anglomania collection, together with some of Craftwork Cards, lovely pearlescent flowers. Hope you like it....

Hope you all have a lovely Friday and please come and join in the fun!!
