Hello everyone and happy Thursday!!
As soon as I saw that Tim Holtz had launched a Tattered Floral Challenge, click HERE for details. I just knew that I had to enter!! This is my favourite die, EVER and my most used and well loved too!! So, here is my entry into the challenge and as always, fingers crossed...I really hope you like it!!
I've taken lots of photos and hopefully, you can see all the detail of this box...The flowers and leaves are die cut from metal foil sheets using the Tattered Florals and Tattered Leaves Dies and embossed these through a Texture Fade Embossing Folder. I then applied Distress Paint over the top and added touches of gold guilding wax to each petal.
The box itself is just an old silver metal chocolate box, (in fact, I could kick myself that I didn't take before and after photos for you to see it...but nevermind). I applied alcohol ink onto it to give the box an old, vintage distressed feel and then added the Curio Knob.
Finally, I added a word band with one of my favourite quotes ~ "reality has limits, imagination is boundless"!
So, I really hope you like my challenge entry and thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at what I've created!! I'm really looking forward to reading all your comments...
See you all very soon but bye for now!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love all the texture. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful entry to the challenge Emma. I love the embossed metal flowers and leaves and it's amazing what a little alcohol ink can do to alter a plain tin ;-) Hope you're feeling better even if it is slowly.

Take it as a compliment, please, that it is hard to believe this item was hand-crafted. So professional with minute attention to both detail and quality. More than well done, Emma.
ReplyDeleteOh my giddy aunt, this is stunning! You are one clever lady and knowing how poorly you've been, it amazes me you've managed to make anything what alone something as gorgeous as this! I love the embossed details, your flowers are so tactile looking I want to reach in and stroke them! Take care lovely, rest up and keep crafting! Zo xx
