Hope you all had a relaxing weekend and a big hello to all my new followers, it's always lovely to see new faces on my blog and don't forget to say hello.
Of course, I think everyone's weekend was dominated by the awful events happening in Japan, at the moment. My thoughts are with all those who have loved and lost...
On a happier note, the wonderful Barbara Gray was on Create and Craft yesterday, showing her new stamp designs and celebrating her birthday. As always, it was a fast and furious show and not all the samples were shown because of quick sell outs but this week I want to share my samples, that I made for the show with you all and hope you like them.
And here is the first share of the week...
On these cards, I used the above stamp set, which is still available from Create and Craft or can be bought direct from ClarityStamp and with these stamps, I thought it would be nice to show that they can be used for vintage look to your card, or a more contemporary feel.
I used the masking technique to build up my flower bed and then using a Martha Stewart border punch, I created a little white picket fence. As finishing touches, I added some punched butterflies, a die cut frond and that adorable little ladybird.
My second card, is the vintage version and I wanted to create a vintage botanical feel to this project. I've distressed the edges of the papers and added a layer of Tim Holtz's Crackle Paint over the finished, coloured images.
I hope you liked my first shares and I can't wait to show you all the other cards that I made.
Enjoy the sunshine and have a fabulous Monday!
See you tomorrow!
Love Emma

They're both beautiful cards Emma and show the stamps off perfectly. I managed to catch most of the show this time - Barbara is such a whizz with that brayer! Looking forward to seeing more of your makes!

Now even though the point of the show is to sell the wonderful Clarity Stamps, but I do love seeing all the sample cards...like yours! ;) because it shows how many different cads can be made with the same set of stamps!
ReplyDeleteI really get the feeling of peering into a spring garden in the first card...with the butterflies and ladybird...you can almost smell the freshly bloomed flowers!
but I especially like the second card...a bit like going to an art gallery! I love the distressing you did on the backing paper...really giving that vintage/antique feel!
Lovely and can't wait to see more!
