Just A Girl

Hi everyone!! After all the adventures of last week, it's taken me a few days to get back to normal and catch up with everything but there's no way I was going to neglect you all and I wanted to also say a big hello to my new followers. It's always such an honour when people love my work and then choose to follow me. xx And I also wanted to say thank you to Dawn, who I met at the event and Lynda, who I unfortunately missed but maybe next time, for your comments! xx

As you all know, I did make quite a few cards last week in preparation for the QVC Event and I think it's only fair that I share them all with you...so, please bear with me and I hope you don't get too bored but I was really proud of all the cards that I made and I hope you love them too!

It's no secret of my love for the Gorjuss Girls and I'm very privileged to be able to work with such amazing and beautiful kits from Crafthouse Press and this card that I'm sharing to day, is no exception...it's one of my favourite images.
This particular image is from the Decoupage packs, which come complete with the backing papers. I loved the subtle colours and shading in this illustration and when I made this card, I also made a conscious effort to keep the same colours running throughout the card and everything that you see on this card is made by myself out of paper. I matted and layered the backing papers onto a card blank and then adhered the main decoupaged image but what I love the most about this card is that splash of shocking pink. I just adore pink and black together and I thought this worked really well! I once again, die cut the flower using Spellbinders Flower Creations set and then built up the layers of co-ordinating papers to make it. The butterfly was punched out using the Martha Stewart large Monarch Butterfly punch and I die cut the swirl using Tim Holtz's Flourish set. A few adhesive gems as final touches were added and another card was made!!

Hope you are all having a fabulous crafty week...love to you all!
