REMEMBRANCE DAY ~ 2014
WE WILL NEVER FORGET
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them." ~ Laurence Binyon

ALWAYS AND FOREVER
I created this poppy using the Tim Holtz Jumbo Tattered Floral Die and Layered Leaf Die by Sizzix and mounted it onto a wooden board that I very carefully singed by holding it over a naked flame! The centre is made from a bottle top filled with glass glitter.
really beautiful Emma...never forget.

ReplyDeleteThis remembrance is a perfect example of the brilliant treasures that can be made from paper. My grandfather served in WWI (and survived) and I didn't learn much about this war in my school days. As I've grown older, I've wanted to know more and have been stunned by my discoveries. The number who died is staggering and the impact unimaginable. This war is brushed over here in the US but, thanks to the Brit's, I've found some tremendous resources online, that have furthered my study of this very sad period. It is right to remember and never to repeat.
