Visions of China

Happy Thursday and also a very Happy Chinese New Year!!

So, seeing as today was the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit, I thought it would be appropriate to share this oriental inspired card with you all!! In all honesty it's probably, slightly more Japanese than Chinese but it was such a beautiful image, that I thought it would work perfectly with these backing papers.
The image is using a stamp that I bought a couple of years ago and with the exception of some mirri card and Bazzill cardstock, everything you see, including the stunning backing paper, is from the wonderful people at Kuretake. I even made those blossoms using some of the backing papers and a punch from EK Success.

The image is coloured in using Kuretake's, Art and Graphic Twin Pens and I've highlighted areas of the robe with their new "Wink Of Stella" pens. What I absolutely love about these new pens, is it gives just a hint of a glittery shimmer...very subtle, not too obvious...but the intensity of the colour, together with the glitter is gorgeous!! As a finishing touch, I added my handmade blossoms and a Tim Holtz, die cut flourish and message tag, which I stamped with one of his quotes.

I hope you all have a fabulous Thursday and love to you all!!

  1. oh it's been a while since I've seen an Asian card on the blog and what a brilliant card to show!

What immediately pops out are the colours! Colours everywhere and even though there are so many different ones, it's not too busy or over the top!

And as you say, the pens really add a subtle touch but not too much...

overall, it's really a superb design! one of my faves so far! :D
