La Belle Femme

Do you ever get that time, when you wake and you just know, that it's going to be one of those days?

I do and today...I think will be just that!! The next couple of weeks are going to be busy as I'm taken up with an exciting new project that I can't tell you about just yet but will be coming soon and it will definitely be worth the wait!! But until that time comes....I thought you might like to see one of those cards, I worked on and was telling you about last week.
Isn't this image...beautiful?? It's just one of four, stamp images that have recently been released by Kanban and can be found at QVC, item #589676. There are two sets and each set contains two of these stunning ladies and some phrases.

As soon as I saw these images, it instantly reminded me of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's paintings..it has the same feel to these drawings, as it does in his...and I wanted to replicate that feel to my card. I chose to stamp the image with a Memento ink pad, onto some textured Bazzill card, to give the impression of an original painting. I used Promarkers to give colour to this beautiful lady but I wanted to stick to fairly muted tones and then give her this wonderful red hair to compliment the greys. I used Stickles glitter glue on her head dress and along the bottom of the dress and then matted and layered the card blank with these fabulous vintage type papers. The final touches of black glitter flower, together with a Tim Holtz die cut flourish and pearls in her hair, just made this simple, yet elegant card...that bit more special!
Well, I'd better get back to my top secret project. There's nothing that makes me happier than when I can surround myself in paper, glitter and inks and listen to the dulcet tones of Michael BublĂ© as I work. I'm in seventh heaven....
Hope you all have a fabulous Tuesday and thanks for taking the time to stop by...
Love Emma

  1. oh wow...what a seductively beautiful image! :-o and the detail is stunning! the slight distressing, the flourish in her hair and dazzle on her dress, that FIRE Red hair and muted grey tone of her dress, the textured Bazzill card, and even the subtle little hint of lace on the black flower...lots of little visual treasures!!! :D

  3. Hey you! ;)

I love what you've done with this card, especially the glittery piece in her hair, and how you used glitter to accent the lace.

Good luck on your top secret project; I can't wait to see it! ;))
