Lazing On A Sunny Afternoon...

Hello friends...

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! It's been eventful here to say the least but this afternoon, I intend to chill out, relax and cheer on Federer in the men's final at Wimbledon!

But before all that happens I have a few things to catch up on and I also wanted to drop by to share a fun project that I've created for the Hipstermania that's been happening over on the Sizzix blog. There is still time to join in, you have until the 21st July and for all the details you can read all about this fun "get hip for summer" promotion over on Tim's blog ~ HERE!

As soon as I saw this image, I couldn't get The Kink's song ~ Sunny Afternoon out of my head and decided to go with a project inspired by the lazy, hazy days of summer and an English Country gent (or in this case, a goat...lol) and created a vignette box using plenty of Tim Holtz products, combined with the Hipsters Stamp and co-ordinating die set.
The image was stamped onto Mixed Media Heavyweight card and then watercoloured with Distress Marker Pens before being die cut using the corresponding Sizzix die.
I added my stamped and die cut image onto the front of the vignette box which is covered in papers from the Dapper Paper Stash and attached it over the top of some dyed cheesecloth and some natural foliage.
I also added a quote chip, held in place with a hinge clip that I made nice and rusty with some rust paste.
To complete my box and give a real country gent feel to the whole project, I attached a finial, top and bottom which I coloured using Distress Paints. To add a more vintage feel to the paint, I then applied a small amount of Aged Brass Art Alchemy Wax with my finger tip.

I love the fact that Sizzix and Tim Holtz created the dies for these stamps as it really does allow you to create such fantastic dimension to the images, including the fun glass frames which I placed a small die cut piece of acetate into.
Hope you'll have some time to "get hip for summer" and join in the fun and I hope you love the project I created!
All Tim Holtz products used on this project are available from Simon Says Stamp

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I'll be back with my SSS Monday project tomorrow and another Hip project later in the week!
See you soon and enjoy the tennis!
xx
