Night and Day

Hope you're all looking forward to a fabulous weekend...I've just come in from a wonderful day in sunny London, where I met up with my friend Sarah and enjoyed a lovely lunch at Carluccios in St Christopher's Place. If anyone is paying a visit to London, I can highly recommend it and especially the Panna Cotta. It's like a hug in a dessert...mmhmm, delicious!

Anyway as promised, I have one last thing to do before I go and have a glass of wine to celebrate the start of the weekend and here it is...my final two cards from the samples I made for the Clarity shows from last Sunday. I hope you like them...

Both of these samples are stamped in exactly the same way...I built up the backgrounds on white card, using Distress Inks, blending the colours together to give depth and shading before I then stamped the silhouette images onto them.

I also really wanted the final stamped images to speak for themselves. So, I didn't use any fancy backing papers and chose to use some simple matting and layering and a beautiful bow as a finishing touch!

I really hope you enjoyed what I made and thank you for all the lovely comments on each of the posts!! I hope I've done Barbara's stamps the justice they deserve and that you liked what I made!
See you all, on Monday and I'll be round to see all your lovely creations, asap!!
Happy weekend!
Love Emma

  2. Emma, you most certainly do Barbara's stamps justice!!! These are both beautiful and you're quite right -they don't need fancy papers. I managed to watch one of the shows this morning (a much more respectful presenter, lol!) and one thing that struck me was the size of your cards! They're obviously much larger than they look in your photos and just stunning! Have alovely weekend. x

  6. it's really amazing how you get the most out of the distressed inks...amazing little works of art! but I especially enjoy the silhouette images...not only of the people but especially of the trees! it all just comes together so well...like a scene straight out of the movies! something they'd roll the opening or closing credits to! ;)

  8. You need have no doubts, Emma, you have certainly done Barbara more that just justice. Those cards are fantastic.

Incidentally, I noticed the bit about Kuretake on your side bar. Having just started water colouring, the only brush I use at the moment is a medium Kuretake water brush. It works for me, so I shall stick to that for the moment.

Hope you you are enjoying the rest of the weekend and your shoulder is not giving you too many problems.
