Piet Mondrian

Happy Friday and thank you to everyone who commented on my last cards. A lot of people have come to me and asked how I stamped the basket and bunch of flowers, which were two separate stamps and make it look as if it was one complete stamped image. This is actually achieved by using a masking technique. First, I stamped the flowers onto the card and also onto a post-it note. I then layered the post-it note onto the stamped image and then stamped the basket over this to make it look as if the basket was in the background. I hope this helps and I might do a tutorial post, in the future to show you in step by step detail.

So, now to the card that I was talking about in yesterday's post and.....ta~dah...here it is...
This card was inspired by one of my very favourite artists, Piet Mondrian. I've often walked around art museums in London and found myself just, "oohing & aahing" at his work and thought how wonderful it was that he took these four colours and created such striking masterpieces. So, when these stamps from Clarity arrived on my doorstep...I knew exactly what I wanted to do and I hope that I've done it justice!

Well, it's time for me to sign off for the weekend. I hope you all have a fabulous, relaxing time and I will see you all next week.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my lil creations.
Love to you all...

  2. of all the cards that weren't shown, I thought this one was the most glaring omission of them all! after all, I think it was the only card to show all 4 stamps! oh well, at least we can see it here! :D

I think I love this card so much because it reminds me of those vintage YSL dresses with the bright colours and bold lines...really simple in concept but works so well and is as bold and beautiful as anything 100 times more complex..I really love it!

should be on exhibit somewhere! ;)
