Released on May 10th, 1982, Rio was to become one of the most iconic albums covers of the 1980's and also one of my favourite album covers ever.
Designed by Malcolm Garrett of Assorted Images, it featured the stunning painting by Patrick Nagel.

I always loved Nagel, but looking at these pieces now, they feel really dated. Maybe it's just the fact that I've seen those images so many times?
