A Good Night To All...

Hi everyone!!

Now, I don't want to panic anyone and if you don't want a shock ~ please do not click, HERE!! 

Did you click? Are you now panicking as much as I am? How did this happen? LOL. Usually by now, I am so well prepared but I haven't got one single present, no Christmas food, no cards and NO Michael Buble Christmas CD! Eek...this is not good, not good at all...if anyone wants to be Emma's Little Helper, there is a vacancy right here but hurry, time is running out!! hehe...

As you might have guessed, it's been another busy week at Chez Williams' and I'm slowly ticking off some of the jobs but in amongst all the hard work and nose to the grindstone there was one little thing that lit up this girl's face...

Those few little words made Emma, a very happy girl!! It's the little things in life that make me so happy!

So, back to business and I think it's time to share a card...I hope you like it!

These stunning papers that I used on this card are from the Tis The Season collection by Kaisercraft and can all be bought from the fab Merly Impressions. If you still haven't popped over there, then you must, the service is second to none and you will love all the gorgeous products they have to offer.

I layered up a selection of the papers and slightly distressed and tore the edges. Next, I used Tim's "to die for" Evergreen Bough Winter Seasonal Distress Ink on my handmade paper flowers and holly leaves and added a spritz of Cosmic Shimmer over the top. I then combined them with the die cut rosettes, made from some more of the Tis The Season papers and a bottle top embellishment, that I made from an old beer bottle top, some of the decorative paper and a generous covering of Glossy Accents.

Heart to Heart

Here we are again...Friday already! Can time please stop flying? ...I'm getting dizzy!

Well, my flu seems to be holding me to ransom, still and there's no sign of it going anywhere, at the moment! There's so much of it around, everyone you talk to seems to have had it or know someone with it and anyone who is suffering with me...you have my sympathy. It's horrible, isn't it?

Yesterday, I felt so bad I didn't manage to get around to a post but there's still a few more cards that I want to show you all from the ClarityStamp show. So, here we go...hope you like them!

 Love using this technique. Melting UTEE in the melt pot and then dropping the stamp into it to give this amazing effect which worked so well with the heart stamp. It also shows the quality of Clarity Stamps to give such a deeply etched impression. I die cut the wings and crown from gold mirri card and then used alcohol inks over the top of the card.

 This card is in stark contrast to the first one. My influence came from a Nordic Christmas theme. I also thought the Stampendous embossing powder that I used on the heart images, gave such a beautiful, glittery effect and just gave that lift and texture to the overall effect.

Poison

Goodbye September and hello October!! As I sit here in the dining room, I can see the trees turning beautiful shades of orange and the rain pouring down outside, trickling down the windows and I thought this was the ideal time to show you one of the first and one of my many Halloween cards. I'm having so much fun making all the treats, cards and goodies for Halloween this year...I think I'm actually giving Martha Stewart a run for her money and you can't see the table for die cut pumpkins, black cats and bats!!

This card is one of the more "arty" projects and uses stamps from a Tim Holtz set together with some Spellbinders die cuts.

Once again, in true Tim Holtz style, I made this card quite grungy and distressed and I really hope you like it. The image of the skeleton is actually made my the resist technique....inking up the stamp with a Versamark ink pad, embossing it with white embossing powder and then I used a Black Soot distress ink pad over the top. Once the area is shaded, I wiped away the residual ink from the raised embossed area to leave me with this x-ray feel to the image. I then covered it with crackle paint and set it aside to dry. It's really a fabulous technique and works so well with these halloween images.

Could It Be Magic...

It's busy, busy, busy here today...but before I get started on lots of lovely new creations, I just wanted to drop by and say hello and share today's card...

It's another card inspired by the wonderful Tim Holtz and uses my favourite stamp set by the great man himself. I absolutely love Tim's quotes and phrases and this quote was just perfect for this card.

There is so much detail on this card, but it was all worth it for the finished effect...from the handmade flowers, to the stamping inside and out. I've used perfect pearls and distress inks in various colours, to create the backgrounds of the papers. I ran a distressing tool around the edges to make them look vintage. On the inside, I hand embossed the backing card, with a Cuttlebug folder and then lightly sanded over it to give an aged effect. The flowers are die cut with a Spellbinders Flower Creation Die and then scrunched and lightly dusted with Distress Ink and a layer of Distress Stickles.

Let's Dance

Friday already...can you believe how time flies? So another week over and I'm working hard on lots of new projects, which I hope to show you all over the coming weeks. But today's card is a stamped image, that I found in my crafty stash of "things to do", which I'd started to make but hadn't got around to finishing and I am so pleased I did stumble across it because, I love this card I was able to make with. 

The main stamped image comes courtesy of my craft hero, Tim Holtz! I just love his quotes and this is one of my particular faves. I used Distress Inks for the background colours, then overstamped with co-ordinating colours, which I then dusted with Perfect Pearls to give a shimmery look to the image, which I hope you can see in some of the photos, because it gives such a beautiful finish. I finally stamped the quote in Archival black ink. On the edges of all the papers, I used a paper distresser to give that grungy, feel to the card and then inked just the edges. The flowers are die cut in the same papers using my trusty Spellbinders Flower Creation dies and held together with metal brads. And I used Distress Stickles in the centres, to give a glittery look to the flowers. Last but not least, I added a die cut flourish from Tim's range for Sizzix.

A Little Work of Art

Happy Friday...and didn't the week fly by again? It's crazy...I blink and there it goes...

But, another day, another card and another image from those fabulous stamps from Kanban. Once again, I wanted to create the feel of an old painting to this card and thought it would lend itself perfectly to the easel style of card. When I look at the items I purchase or am fortunate and lucky enough to be given...I always like to think outside the box! Sometimes, I make these things harder for myself than I probably should but I've always liked to include my inspirations in my card making. And one of those inspirations is art...these images really do lend themselves to be anything you want but for me...they really are like works of art by some wonderful French artist in the 19th Century...and I really hope I've created that feel, here...in my little work of art!

Once again, the image is stamped and coloured with Promarkers for that flawless look that they give. I used some wonderful papers, that I've been keeping for the right moment and they were the absolutely perfect, colour match for this image and I also used Tim Holtz's paper distresser around the edges to give that aged look to the paper. Highlights of Distress Stickles glitter, a Tim Holtz adage ticket, some mulberry paper flowers that I hand tinted by hand with Distress Inks and card candy were all my little finishing touches. And voila...
