It's A Journey ~ Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Hello everyone!

As always, the start of a new week means the start of a new challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog and this week was one that I really enjoyed working on, it was such a fun process to make this tag and to work on the awesome challenge theme ~ IT'S A JOURNEY! So, are we talking about your own creative journey, process, life in general? Or will it be all about your next vacation? This word is so inspiring it conjures up so many images and thoughts and we can't wait to see how you interpret it...

...and this is how I interpreted it! As always, I really hope you love what I've made and enjoy the post!
So, to begin with I took a large size 12, size 8 and size 5 Manila tag and "swooshed" them through Brushed Corduroy, Antique Linen, Stormy Sky and Antiqued Bronze Distress Stains to soak up all the lovely colours that I applied to my craft sheet, covering the backs and fronts of the tags. I gave the tags a quick blast of heat to dry them, folded the large tag in half and then started to add some interest to the backgrounds of each of them by applying Walnut Stain Distress Ink through the Dot Fade, Rays and Harlequin Layering Stencils.

To add even more interest to the large tag, I then used the text stamp  and clock from the Going Somewhere set and stamped onto random areas, inside and out, and then stamped the cogs from the Time Travellers set, before I completed the background by adding a few paint splatters, which I flicked over the tag.
I now had all my tags ready for action and starting with the small one, I stamped the quote from the Going Somewhere stamp set onto the front of it and then added some Tissue Tape before attaching it to the front of the large folded tag, slightly overlapping the top.
I then die cut the Vintage Globe from Grungeboard and painted it with Distress Paints...
...and added this to the front of the tag card, together with a Pen Nib attached to a wooden BBQ skewer and a small Idea-ology Glass Vial bottle which was crackled with Rock Candy Crackle Paint, coloured with Alcohol Inks and then had a little Fragile Remant Rub added.
Now for the inside of the card and I took the inked size 8 tag and stamped "Enjoy The Journey" quote at the bottom before adding the stamped compass image from the Classics 1 stamp set, which I coloured with Distress Marker pens.
To complete the tag, I added Laboratorie Tissue Tape and an arrow from the Industrious Stickers before attaching the tag to the inside.
Finally, I used Crinkle Ribbon dyed with Broken China Distress Stain to complete the tag with a stamped and crinkled ticket pinned to the centre.

So, I really hope you've loved my little journey around the world and for more great ideas and inspiration, then you need to look no further than the blog to see all the wonderful creations from my very talented Design Team members and every week, one lucky random participant has the chance to win a $50 gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp. 18. Emma, Emma! Your pieces always make me just stare at the computer screen for several minutes as I soak in all of your amazing details. As usual, there is so much to love and be inspired by in this piece. Some of my favorite components are the "Fragile" bottle and the pen nib attached to a stick. You did an amazing job and made me want to jump on a plane or a boat or a bus and go somewhere fabulous!
