Now, back to my make and I created a vintage style card using the gorgeous Celebrate Rose Corner stamp set, and here's how I created it...

To begin with I cut a black tent fold card base to measure, 14.5 x 18.5cm.

I then cut a panel of SSS black card, 14 x 18cm and around the outside I used a white gel pen to make a border of tiny circles. Matt the panel onto the card base.

For the main panel, I used Distress Watercolour card, cut to measure 12.5 x 16.5cm and using Tim Holtz Black Soot Archival Ink, I stamped part of the corner rose onto the left hand side of the card.

I then watercolored the image using a water brush and Distress Inks;

Rose: Saltwater Taffy, Rusty Hinge, Picked Raspberry, Antique Linen

Leaves and Stems: Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage, Gathered Twigs

After I laid down the palest colours, I then built up the intensity with the darker shades of inks, heat drying between each watercolored layer.

Once I was happy, I added some more depth of colour, and shading with Polychromos Pencils before I lightly flicked some Picket Fence Distress Paint across the surface.

To create a vintage feel to the background, I once again used Distress Inks which I applied to my Glass Media Mat. I lightly spritzed the inks with water until they beaded and then dipped the card into the various colours ~ Old Paper, Saltwater Taffy, Speckled Egg, and Frayed Burlap. In the photo below, you can see all the tiny inky droplets that I picked up from the mat and how they form the background to the image.

Once I'd heat dried the inked card panel, I used a Blending Tool to ink around the edges with Old Paper Distress Ink.

To complete the panel, I used black ink to stamp the Celebrate sentiment, also from the Rose Corner stamp set and placed this in the top right hand corner.

After machine stitching a border around the outside, I matted the panel onto a further piece of black card, followed by matte gold card and each time left a narrow border around the outside.

I then mounted the panels onto my card base using foam pads to add dimension.

To complete the card, I added some tiny gems around the rose image...

...and in the top right hand corner, I adhered a Curator Snippets Ephemera piece.

...and that's my card finished and I hope you love what I've made!
