Time For Wine...

Hello everyone and welcome to the start of a brand new week and a brand new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! I'm sure you all know that STAMPtember® is a very special month in the Simon Says Stamp Store calendar and this week the theme for our challenge is ~ STAMP IT and we are asking you to use a stamp, no digi images allowed.

The DT are showcasing the latest STAMPtember® products and although you probably don’t have these supplies yet we would like you to use Simon’s Exclusive Products if you have them. This isn’t necessary to join in with the challenge but we would appreciate it.
For my project, I decided to create a wine tag that would fit over the neck of a bottle of wine and make that boring old bottle into something a little more special!
To begin with I cut a panel of black card, 19.5 x 9.5cm and I then measured and scored the card horizontally 6.5cm from the top edge and folded along the score. This creates the basic wine tag shape.

For the next stage, I then used Tim Holtz's Stitched Rectangle die to die cut some manila card. I used the largest and the second smallest which fit perfectly onto my two sections of the tag.

Apply a layer of Collage Medium over the top of the die cut rectangles, I left it to dry before sprinkling a very small amount of Sunset Beach, Golden Sands and The Sage PaperArtsy Infusions over the top. Load your brush with some more Collage Medium and then brush out the powder particles to create a solid finish to your card stock. I loved the leathery effect it gave to my card, it looks so rich in texture.

Once I dried the rectangles, I then attached them to my panels on the wine tag. Using a die or a circle punch, create a circular aperture measuring 3.5cm in diameter in the centre of the smaller folded section of the tag.

Now to move onto the next stage and I chose the second largest Stitched Rectangle die to die cut watercolour card and then using the Tim For Wine Stamp Set, I stamped the images onto my die cut panel.
I watercoloured the images using Distress Marker Pens and added a touch of shimmer to the wine glass with Wink Of Stella. Add a few flicks of Dusty Concord Distress Stain across the panel.

I inked around the edges before adding some texture using Gold Rush Glass Glitter and Copper Micro Beads, added to some 3D Matte Gel which I then just applied around the edges of my panel.
Once the edges were dry, I then attached the panel onto my tag using foam pads.
To complete this section, I added some 28 Lilac Lane sequins and also stamped a number in the bottom left corner, using the Correspondence stamp set by Tim Holtz.

Now to add the decoration to the top and for this, I began by using the Twisted Edge die by Tim Holtz and die cut a piece of black card. Pop the die cut out of the die and then apply some Ranger Gold Metallic Paint over the surface, using the dabber to apply the paint and leaving some areas untouched and letting the black card show through. Once it was dry, I then applied a layer of clear embossing ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.
Attach the die cut along the top of the front section of your wine tag, placing it so that the top section will still fold over and will be able to be hooked over the bottle. Add two small studs to either end of the die cut.

I then cut a strip of crinkle ribbon, dyed it with Dusty Concord and Wilted Violet Distress Stains and tied it into a scruffy bow. Attach the bow at the back of the Twisted Edge die cut, placing it centrally.
Spritz a piece of card with autumnal tones of Distress Spray Stain, I used Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade and then once the card is dry, die cut some leaves using the Fall Foliage die. I inked the edges of the leaves and shaped them to create a more realistic look before attaching a selection of leaves, placing them behind the Twisted Edge die cut section and attaching them with a hot glue gun, together with some floristry fibres.
Attach a bottle top to the centre of the twisted edge die cut and then place a gumdrop in the middle.
Finally, I used a Hinge Clip which I altered with some Gilding Wax to create a more tarnished coppery worn effect and I attached two corks using some idea-ology fastenings. The corks are actually taken from the largest bottles in the Corked Vials set...I had them left over from a previous project and they were perfect size for this.
Now all that's left is to place the tag onto the wine by hooking it over the neck of the bottle.

So, I really hope you've enjoyed the creative process behind my card and as always if you do need any further inspiration, then you need look no further than our blog to see all the wonderful creations from all the very talented Design Team members and every week, one lucky random participant has the chance to win a $50 gift voucher from Simon Says StampYou have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in and good luck....
