Witch-Kraft ~ Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Hello everyone!

Hope you've enjoyed your weekend and you're ready for the week ahead! Today, there is a brand new challenge starting over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog and this week it's all about WITCH KRAFT!! This challenge was suggested by my talented team member, Sandra and yes, we might be a bit early with this one, but the word play combined with getting a jump on autumn decor and a new colour palette has us eager. What magic will you work with kraft? Or will your project be more witchy? Whether themed or colour based ~ you can hop on your broom and fly a lot of directions for this one!!

But if you're like me and you love Halloween, then I hope my project inspires you! I couldn't resist playing with the new Tim Holtz stamps and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to break open those packets and get inky ~ as always, I hope you love what I've made!

To begin with I applied some Distress Stains to my craft sheet, spritzed them with water and then took a piece of white card and swooshed the card through the stains. I love the random patterns that this technique gives you and for a halloween background, this is perfect! Any droplets of ink that are left on the craft sheet, just mop them up with your card.
I inked up the spider's web stamp with black Archival Ink and then stamped the image in the two corners of my card. Next, I needed to get those pumpkins made and for this, I used the Blueprint stamps, stamped three pumpkins, separately onto water colour card and then painted them, using a water brush and Distress Marker Pens. I cut each pumpkin out and set them aside for later.

I then stamped my absolute favourite image from Tim's Halloween stamps...those three cats and stamped these directly onto my background!
Using foam pads, I attached my painted pumpkins around them, so that it looked as if they were poking up from behind the pumpkins.
I stamped the Happy Halloween message onto another piece of inked card, cut it out and mounted it onto my card, together with some cheesecloth which I tucked underneath the pumpkins.
To complete the scene, I used a die cut pediment, painted with a layer of Inky Pool Fresco Finish Paint, before adding a layer of PaperArtsy Crackle Glaze and finishing with a coat of Snowflake Fresco Finish Paint. I then popped one of Tim's Idea-Ology Crossbones in the centre.
To complete the card, I matted it onto further card layers and used a white gel pen, I added a white dashed background around the main image.
I really hope you've loved this fun halloween card, as much as I loved making it! As always, if you're looking for some more great ideas and inspiration, then you need to look no further than the blog to see all the wonderful creations from my very talented Design Team members and every week, one lucky random participant has the chance to win a $50 gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp. Good luck....
