Thank You ~ Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Hi everyone and welcome to a brand new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

This week's challenge is all about "Thank You"! Whether you decide to make tags for store bought things or homemade thank you gifts and cards, there is no nicer way than creating your own personal way of saying thanks!

For my project, I think it's safe to say that the majority of us all love surprises and I decided to create a card with a coffee theme and a surprise little gift card wallet hidden away inside! Hope you'll follow along to see how I made it...

To begin with, I took a giant sized (size 12) Manila tag from Ranger and cut away the tag section at the top. I placed the tag lengthways in front of me and measuring from the left hand side, I scored a vertical line at 11cm and again at 11.5cm. This will create a gusset for your tag to easily slip into. Fold along the scorelines to create your basic card blank.

Now, to create the panels for the inside and outside of your wallet and for this, I cut two pieces of white card that would fit on each of the panel, leaving a border showing around the outside. I applied Cracked Pistachio Distress Paint to the surface of each piece of card and used a heat tool to dry.

I then took the front panel and embossed this using the Courtyard and Trellis Texture Fade. I lightly sanded over the embossed areas to remove some of the paint and then inked around the edges of both pieces with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

Attach the plain panel to the back section of the card. Matt the embossed panel onto a piece of corrugated card and mount onto the front section.

Using the Splat die from the Scribbles and Splat die set, die cut Manila card stock. Ink the cut images using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and attach them to the inside and the outside of your wallet.
To create your wallet, open up the card lengthways and place foam pads on the inside, along the bottom edge and down the left hand edge of your front panel. Fold along the scorelines and attach the front panel to the back section to form the pocket for your tag.

Now for embellishing and for this, I used the Coffee Cups die from Tim Holtz and die cut one of the cups and lids from Grungepaper and the band from corrugated card. I painted the die cut cup and lid using a blend of Picket Fence and Antique Linen Distress Paint and once dry, inked the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Assemble the cup, adding the band across the middle section. Place a circle of inked card to the centre and then using the Heartfelt die, die cut one heart to fit into the centre of the circle. Paint the heart using Festive Berries Distress Paint and then add a layer of Glossy Accents over the top before applying an even coat of Rock Candy Distress Glitter. Tap away the excess and leave to dry before attaching the heart to the centre of your cup.
Cut a piece of film ribbon and attach this across the bottom section on the front of your wallet. Add a Flash Card and secure this in place using torn pieces of Tissue Tape, together with some metal embellishments and a mirrored star that has been inked with Alcohol Ink to make it look a little more vintage.
To complete the card, attach your coffee cup, layering it over some cheesecloth and attach a scattering of sequins.

We're nearly there and all that we need to do now is create our little tag and for this, I used a size 8 Manila tag and cut it down to measure 12.5cm in length. I painted the tag with a blend of Cracked Pistachio and Antique Linen Paint and then added a panel of embossed card.

I hand dyed some ribbon with Cracked Pistachio Distress Stain and tied the ribbon into a scruffy bow at the top of my tag.

I secured a typed token onto the centre of the bow using a looped pin and then added some Big Chat stickers to the embossed card.
Finally, pop your gift card into the pocket and place the tag into the wallet.
I really hope you've enjoyed how I created my fun little gift card.
