Douglas...

Hi everyone...

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and wasn't it great to see the sun finally shining?!?! It's still got that nip in the air but it's good to see those blue skies again...

Today, I'm sharing one of my samples that I made for the Clarity Stamp shows that were on over the weekend. As you all know, I haven't been too well over the last few months and it took all my energy to make these samples but I was determined and as always...I really hope you like them!!
This stamp set is a little bit different from anything we've seen Barbara do in the past but I loved it and it gave me the chance to get out my Gelli Plate and start creating backgrounds, which is exactly what I did and now, I'm a little bit addicted to that plate!! Lol...
I used both stamps in this set to create my card and then doodled the border around the outside with a black and a white pen.
The image of Douglas is coloured with Distress Marker Pens and then I added some checks onto his trousers.

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look at what I've created today and I really hope you're inspired to try out these stamps. I can't wait to show you my other samples that I made for the shows over the next few days! As for me, I'm off to see a consultant tomorrow to see if he can sort me out and put me back together again to become my old self ~ lol!!
Bye for now...love Emma xxx

  1. He's brilliant, isn't he? He has a certain kind of genteel beauty about him!

The Gelli plate is weird! Being a fan of the work produced by BG/Clarity aficionados but not that good myself, I feel it may be a while before I have need of this item! Haven't even mastered TH's blending tool yet and don't possess a brayer. There, it's out in the public domain at last.

Returning to you, dear Emma, another piece of stunning work we can all admire! You have to consider a book one day - just an e-mag maybe?

  3. Firstly, I hope all goes well with the consultant and you get answers/a positive way forward (I'll be thinking of you).
Secondly, there's loud clapping going on here as you have chosen to show one of my favourite cards from the weekend shows!! Douglas is such a clever image (he reminds me a little of manga figures and could also be used for steampunk projects) and the shards are so adaptable too.
LOVE what you did with his trousers, the b&w borders and your gelli printing background (saw it on another of your fab cards too if I'm not mistaken).
Take care of yourself, hugs Jenny xx

  4. Great card Emma, love the artsy background and his checkered trousers. Love the black and white border too. I still have my Gelli Pâté in the wrapper, oh dear. Tracy x
