Around The World

Wow, it's Thursday already? Where do these weeks go? One minute, it's Monday and we're looking forward to a new week and before you know it, we're at Wednesday and waiting for the weekend!! Dare I say it...it'll be time to start Christmas cards soon. I know that I'm starting to think about them for my projects in Making Cards Magazine because you have to work so far in advance but it's going to be strange making Christmas cards whilst the sun's shining! Eek...

But back to today and some more cards from the Clarity shows...hope you like them!

The first card is the beautiful image of Nerfertiti and the Sphinx. When I was at school, I remember studying Egyptology and loved every minute of it. It used to fascinate me and I've spent many days roaming around the British Museum looking at the wonderful artifacts from this magical time in history! So when these stamps arrived, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them...
The hieroglyphics backing papers are from The Crafthouse Press and I've had them for a while but never used them before but always knew that they would come in handy, one day! I wanted to use the rich colours of lapis and gold to compliment the stamped image, which was coloured in using Promarkers. I tore some textured paper to give the look of papyrus and finally made a lotus flower, using Tim's Tattered Florals die and some white pearlescent papers.

For my next card, which unfortunately was sitting at the bottom of the pile of samples and even though I was willing the presenter to stop talking and pick it up, it didn't get a showing due to the stamp set selling out. But as usual, you get to see it here...
I used the Eiffel Tower stamp, together with the Postcard set of stamps, to make this one and really just wanted to create the look of vintage ephemera, complete with a seal of UTEE enamel, which I'd melted down in the Melt Pot and then stamped into, with the Eiffel Tower image. The flourishes are of course from Tim's Elegant Flourish die and the papers are once again, some that I had in my crafty stash, from The Crafthouse Press.

So, tomorrow is the final two cards and I hope I haven't bored you with all these samples but I just love sharing my work with you and hopefully, inspiring you to make your own creations using Clarity Stamps.

Thank you all for your comments and thank you to Tam for your very kind words on my last post...it was a very sweet thing to say and meant a lot to me! Also, I wanted to say thank you for all your well wishes about my shoulder...it's still no better but I'm now taking medication for it and also have a hot water bottle strapped permanently to my arm, so fingers crossed that some of the movement will come back and soon!!

See you tomorrow with the final share...
Love Emma

and dare I say your Nerfertiti card would not look the least bit out of place in a museum! beautifully couloured image with that bright gold border...as well as that brilliant backing paper..set off so nicely with the flower and Sphinx embellishments...just perfect!

and I can see why you wanted the Eiffel Tower card shown much..it's amazing! of course the way you used the tower stamp here is so original...and the colours and backing paper...you really get that vintage feel coming through!
