Rhapsody In Blue

Hi everyone...hope you're all having a happy Wednesday. Isn't the weather beautiful, today? Sunny and warm, perfect for bringing the cherry blossom on the trees to life!

I was expecting to get today's share of Clarity cards, posted this morning but my internet has been out all day. It's amazing how much you do rely on the internet...I actually felt cut off from the world without it! But it did allow me to experiment with my Cosmic Shimmer sprays and the Tattered Florals die and I am so excited with all the little creations I've come up with!!! Can't wait to show you all...

But before then, here's day three of my Clarity samples. I think a lot of you will recognise the first card as this was one of the samples that did get shown and wasn't leant on... *mischievous smile*!!

I've been trying to come up with some different card shapes to my cards and was inspired by the new Craftwork Cards, card blanks for the shape of this one. I used Tim's On The Edge Die to create the fancy edge to the elongated back section of my card blank. It also meant that I could place my paper roses on this section and not interfere with the main stamped image.
As for the main image, I stamped it with a brown ink pad, coloured it with Promarkers and then created the look of fluffy clouds on the background. I then stamped the sentiment in the centre of the bough and added a little fluttering butterfly. Once again, it was really hard to let this card go...I was so pleased with it!

The second card in today's share, is using the infamous, Scotland stamps. To be honest, I really wanted the word, Scotland to do the talking on this card...so, I kept it simple. The flag of Scotland, embossing the stamped image in gold and just the thistle standing proud, against a cloudy background. For me, it said it all...it really didn't need anything else!

I hope you like today's cards and once again, thank you all for your lovely comments, yesterday and a big thank you to Lisa's hubby...I'm so glad you liked the geometric border card that I showed in yesterday's post! :)
See you all tomorrow and enjoy the sunshine!!
Love Emma

  1. Wow! I love the way you die cut the back of the first card; very original and an idea I think will be 'borrowed' by many card makers! Two very beautiful and striking cards Emma. xx

  3. Two more stunning designs. I agree with Katina that shaped back is pure genius and I'm sure we'll see it in other peoples work from now on.

  4. thank goodness our friend had the good sense to NOT lean on the first card! :p

really love the soft blue and white as well as the overall design...I like how the flowers are on the back panel but can still be seen when the card is closed...really clever! :)

I like the decision to stamp the Scotland card in gold with the flag in the back...it really works well! maybe we'll see the other home nations as well from Clarity? ;)

brilliant work...can't wait for the next two! :D

  5. I now have a Hubby with a big head 'cos he got a mention on a blog other than mine!!!
I always enjoy visiting you, Emma your cards are so inspiring, I know I've said it before, but they are.
Can I ask what die or punch you use for your roses, you get such lovely open flowers, mine tend to be more squashed in. The blue ones on your first card as so pretty and the TH edge die works brilliantly. I can see why you got attached to it.
