Perfect Petals

Happy Wednesday, everyone and I hope despite the dreary weather outside, you're all having a wonderful week, so far! Isn't the weather just awful at the moment? I've even had to switch the heating back on today...you wouldn't think it was spring!!

But it is spring and nearly the end of March, which means that this is the time we celebrate our Mums. Yes, this Sunday is Mother's Day and seeing as my Mum isn't too well at the moment, I thought I'd spoil her and make her a very special card.
I used Craftwork Card's fabulous Botanical collection to make this card and I also came up with a slightly different look for this one. I love dimension in my cards and I still really like the easel card shape but I really wanted something different for my special card. And this is what I made...an easel card with a twist.
The base of the card, actually lies flat but I've then added a smaller easel card, to the base and inside this smaller card, is where you write your message. I'm so pleased with how it worked out and I hope you all like it too!

The flower is made using a Craftwork Cards, Perfect Petals 1 and 2 Templates. It's quite time consuming as each petal is cut out by hand and layered to give the finished flower but as you can see, it gives the most wonderful result and is so worth all the effort.
And this is what the card looks like when it's completely flat....
Well, my cake and coffee break is over...so, I'm thinking maybe one more card before I collapse this evening!! lol
Thank you to everyone for your comments on my last post.
See you soon
Love Emma

  5. Hi Emma
Thanks for your reply - made my husband smile to think he got a mention.
Love the twist on the easel card. I must find a way to show you some of my cards. Mum's this year uses 2 of Barbs stamps (the large flourish (using the Black Magic technique) and the mother sentiment that was in her unmounted sale.
Weather here was awful this morning but cheered up this afternoon. At present I work for the Brecon Beacons National Park and we were in the middle of an airlift so was grateful for the sunshine.
    Cheers for now, Kirsty

  6. It's a stunning card, Emma. I love the ay it's a card within a card and the colours are so unusual. Your Mum will love it I'm sure. I'm sorry to hear she's not well but this will certainly bring a smile to her face.
I see you've got that lovely leaf die. I've beenafter it too but everywhere has sold out at the moment.

  7. I never fail to be surprised by how you can turn the ordinary in to the extraordinary! :D you certainly know how to spoil the ones you love!

This card is incredible...mum will absolutely adore it! ;) I've seen several easel cards of course but this is a whole other level...so unique! I love the detail and thought that went into the flower as well! using all the elements in the card to tie it all together...it just flows so perfectly!

Your mum will ABSOLUTELY adore it on her special day! :D
    Beautifully done! <333
