Light My Fire...

Even though it's reasonably warm and sunny here in London...for the last few days, I've definitely felt that Autumn is on it's way and when I think of Autumn, I think of the dark nights drawing in, watching the leaves turn beautiful shades of orange, long walks in the park and then back home to snuggling up on the sofa with candles burning and comfort food waiting...

And with that in mind and the fact that with all the renovation work going on in my house at the moment, which makes it very hard to concentrate and difficult to get to my crafty stash...I decided to try something new and here it is...

I actually saw this being done in a Banana Frog demo on TV and thought I'd give it a go and I'm really rather pleased with the results and the way that it turned out....

To make the candle... I used a Tim Holtz image and memento ink and stamped onto white tissue paper. I then wrapped the tissue paper around the candle and then wrapped a layer of greaseproof paper around that. Then comes the fun part, using a heat tool, all you have to do is very carefully and slowly, heat the candle that is wrapped in the tissue paper and you'll find that the wax absorbs the tissue paper and finally, you're left with the image, transferred onto the candle. It's magic....and believe me, will be the first of many!! Martha Stewart...eat your heart out!! haha...
