Do Not Disturb!

I think by now, you all know how much I love the Gorjuss girls and combining my passion with The Crafthouse Press' new decoupage releases, I've been in my element!

Over the last few weeks, I've tried to show different ideas of how to incorporate the decoupage, tags and toppers on various styles of card making but today, I thought I'd do something a bit special. I made a door hanger and the way that I've made it, it can be sent like a regular greetings card, with a message on the insert inside but when you've finished with it...tie the ribbons together and it can be hung on any Gorjuss Girl's bedroom door.
So, how did I make it? First of all, I cut an A4 piece of card into the shape of a door hanger using a Craftwork Cards template. Cut two circles back and front, for where you will slip it over the handle, scored the door hanger shaped piece of card down the centre and folded it in half. Then comes the fun part ~ decorating the hanger!

First I attached a piece of ribbon to go all the way around the card, ending up with the ties on the side. I then used some backing paper that is supplied in the decoupage packs and cut this to fit the front and back of the card. Taking some of the stripey paper, I cut out a scalloped circle shape using a Spellbinders die and then with a smaller nesting die, I ran it through the Cuttlebug again to give me the frame, that I adhered around the hanger aperture. The little picket fence is made by using Martha Stewart's Trellis punch on a piece of cream card, that I coloured with a Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. Once all that is done, it's just a matter of adhering the beautiful decoupage image and all the elements to the front of the card and making up the finished design, with some final details of paper flowers, buttons and adhesive stones.
THE BACK OF THE DOOR HANGER
Covered in more of the stripey paper, I adhered an oval die cut, which once again is cut using a Spellbinders die and then I used some gorgeous letter stickers, which I thought complimented the whole design perfectly, to make the "Do Not Disturb' sign.
AND FINALLY HANGING IN PRIDE OF PLACE....
