Owls and birds, are such a huge trend in papercrafting at the moment and this cute little owl comes courtesy of Craftwork Cards. The quality of their acrylic stamps are fantastic and the images are simply adorable.
So, on this particular card, I stamped the owl image onto a plain piece of card, coloured it in with Promarker pens and then carefully cut the image out by hand. Using the Spellbinder's ~ Nestabilities, labels 4...I die cut 2 pieces of plain white card and a piece of orange patterned paper, reducing the size each time and distressing the edges for an aged look. I then matted and layered these onto co-ordinating backing papers from Kate Knight and finally, using 3D foam for some added height and definition, I popped the owl onto the branch which I'd previously stamped onto the smallest die-cut and adhered the matts to the card front. On the left side of the card, I used strips of the same papers and along the one edge, punched the border by hand, using a Martha Stewart's punch. As a finishing touch, I added a pearlescent flower from Craftwork Cards in a beautiful yellow, which worked so well against the orange and black backdrop...I tied some fibre through a button, attached that to the middle of the flower and last but not least, added the "sending hugs" greeting plaque.
he is one adorable owl on one adorable card ! love the whole look of your creation .
